Where is Sixteen located?
Sixteen is located inside Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago at 401 N. Wabash Ave. in downtown Chicago. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant’s 92-story building — the second tallest in the city after the Willis Tower — is a breathtaking addition to the skyline. Head up to the 16th floor, where you can enjoy the view of the Chicago River along with your breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner at this aptly named restaurant. If you take a leisurely stroll after your Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star meal, you’ll find classic Chicago attractions close by, such as Magnificent Mile shopping, Millennium Park and the Art Institute. And with several “L” (the elevated train) stations blocks away, you’ll have no trouble catching a ride home or off to your next adventure.

Is Sixteen a romantic restaurant?
The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Sixteen is most definitely a romantic restaurant. The exquisite establishment is located on the 16th floor of the Five-Star Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. It doesn’t matter what time of the day you visit because the floor-to-ceiling windows allow for beautiful views of the Chicago River. But, I recommend going at night when you and that special someone can sit outside on the patio and enjoy dinner, drinks and fresh air in the midst of the city’s twinkling lights. Should you choose to dine indoors, ask for a table for two next to any window. The scapes will be just as gorgeous and I guarantee that sparks are going to fly. -

What are the desserts like at Sixteen?
The desserts at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Sixteen are delicious. I experienced them at a dessert buffet station during brunch one Sunday. All of the petit fours were presented on individual dishes and with such small sizes, I felt as if I could grab more than one without it doing too much damage to my waistline. I had three macaroons and the raspberry mouse shot with a coconut mousse dome on top. The confection was sprinkled with vanilla streusel and tasted divine! Although I didn’t try everything at the dessert bar, there were also chocolate chip cookies, churros and more. -

How do I get a reservation at Sixteen?
I secured a spot at Sixteen by calling the number (312-588-8030) on the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago’s website. The reservationist took my name, phone number and asked how many people were in my party. She also asked if I had any food allergies and if anyone in my party was celebrating a birthday or an anniversary. I appreciated her attention to detail and delightful customer service.
But if you’d rather obtain a reservation with the click of a mouse, you can also go to opentable.com to snag your spot at this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant. -

You know you have found a winner if your significant other takes you to the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Sixteen for a date. The ambiance is sophisticated and the service is stellar. Plus, the view of the Chicago River from the 16th floor is splendid. And if you want to surprise your sweetie with a special confection, pastry sous chef Daniella Rinaldi’s raspberry mousse shot with a coconut mousse dome and vanilla struesal sprinkled on top will do the trick. But keep in mind that this item isn’t a regular on the menu. When I inquired about this specific dessert, chef Rinaldi told me to email her before I come back in again (at least four days in advance) and she’d place it on the menu. Now that’s five-star service that is sure to impress any date! -

What is the service like at Sixteen?
The service at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Sixteen is top-notch. From the minute I sat down at the table with my girlfriends, our waiter was attentive to all of our needs. He offered us mimosa and champagne before giving us a tour of the buffet stations. While we were enjoying brunch, he would stop by to make sure we had everything we needed. If there was an empty plate left on the table, other servers would stop by (in a graceful manner) to collect them. After about an hour into the meal, I asked our waiter to take a picture of us and he did without hesitation (as a matter of fact, he took several shots so we would have a variety). I also noticed that whenever we would engage our waiter in casual conversation, he responded genuinely. For example, one of my friends at the table inquired about having drinks on the patio when it opens in May. Our waiter proceeded to give her all of the necessary information she would need for her return in a few weeks. And before we left the restaurant, the hostess provided my friend with even more information about having drinks on the patio. Everyone at Sixteen was very helpful and provided the five-star service the restaurant is known for. -

What is the dress code at Sixteen?
Depending on what time of the day you go to the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Sixteen, I believe the dress code varies. If you’re there for breakfast or lunch, a nice blouse and skirt or pants will do just fine. You can even get away with a classic cotton polo shirt and khaki pants. But if you are there for dinner or to grab a drink at the bar later in the day, I would wear something a little more formal such as a cocktail dress or jacket, button-down shirt and pants. When I dined there for brunch, I saw some people in sweatsuits and shorts. In my humble opinion, their attire was certainly out of place and not appropriate for dining at a Five-Star restaurant.
