Perched atop the bluffs of Watch Hill is the Ocean House, one of the last grand Victorian hotels you’ll find in New England. The hotel, located at 1 Bluff Ave. in Westerly, was originally built in 1868, and restored and reopened in June 2010, welcoming old friends and new guests back to the famous house on Watch Hill. The Ocean House is about two hours from Boston, three hours from New York City, and about an hour and 15 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel is located just on the edge of the Connecticut/Rhode Island border, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offering views of Block Island, Montauk and the bay. Don’t expect grand extravagances beyond what the Ocean House offers in Watch Hill. The quiet neighborhood is home to beautifully lined streets, perfectly planted gardens and a small village with a few local restaurants and boutiques.
