We recommend leaving all clothing and undergarments in your personal locker. We provide disposable bathing suits for our body treatments. Guests are encouraged to wear whatever they find most comfortable.

We offer a Gentleman’s Executive Facial using an organic “wild crafted” skincare line called ISUN. It is available in 30-, 60- or 90-minute sessions.

One signature service is Anointing (90 minutes). Beginning with a face and scalp massage, this treatment incorporates a deep-conditioning heated hair mask with a head-to-toe Rose Oil Massage with circular and figure-8 strokes. A 60-minute concentration on the body’s Chakras, or energy centers, with light stretching movements and breathing techniques is followed by a contrasting 30-minute Vichy Rain Shower to boost energy and circulation. Guests will have conditioner in their hair after the treatment, so we recommend a shampoo/blow-dry in the adjoining Kim Vo Salon.
 
Another signature service is Fruits of the Orchard (90 minutes). After a footbath of jasmine, rosehips, bergamot, neroli and sandalwood, you recline on a heated chaise longue chair while your therapist applies an awakening Lemon Blossom Coffee Olive Scrub. Following a Rose Clay Wrap and a deep-conditioning scalp massage, you step into our signature Affusion Shower and finish with an application of our hydrating tangerine-fig cream.
 
Also, consider the 90-minute Replenishing Stones treatment. Begin with a relaxation stone massage (60 minutes) to soothe sore muscles, followed by a vigorous Dead Sea Salt Scrub and a contrasting Vichy Shower Rain Therapy. End with an application of honey-fig cream. This treatment will leave you feeling relaxed and invigorated all at once.

We offer a 30-minute Botanicals of the Orchard Scrub with Dead Sea Salt (custom ingredients can be added for special needs). The treatment ends with a warm Vichy Shower and hydrating tangerine-fig cream.

We offer manicures and pedicures using products from Spa Ritual, a 100 percent vegan and non-toxic line. Our Aura Balance Hand Ritual (60 minutes, $80) and Aura Balance Foot Ritual (60 minutes, $100) are designed to balance the body’s full Chakra system. You can choose from three fragrances depending on your “intent”: Geranium (Relax), Ginger (Connect), or Frankincense (Inspire). Both treatments include exfoliation with mineral salts and micro algae; cuticle trimming; buffing; massage using hydrating essential oils; and polish application. Additional services include French polish ($10); paraffin treatment for hands ($40); nail repair ($15 per nail) and paraffin treatment for feet ($40).

We offer a service called Elements of the Earth Wrap. After a brief consultation, your therapist will customize your body scrub and wrap utilizing a nutrient-rich herbal apothecary of organic earth ingredients. Enveloped by a warm cocoon, your body absorbs earth elements while impurities are drawn out during a hypnotic scalp massage. Stress and toxins are washed away with our Vichy Shower, and your treatment is finished with a hand-selected body crème to restore and protect your skin. (This treatment addresses specific needs such as detoxification, anti-aging, relaxation, hydration, immune system boosting and digestion.)

We offer several massages at Spa Montage. The spa has reflexology, hot and cold stone massage, couples services, shiatsu, Swedish, therapeutic and manual lymph drainage.

We do not provide specific services designed for our younger guests. We do request that guests receiving a massage or body treatment be at least 16 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Guests of any age can receive a facial or nail service on his or her own.

We do not offer specific aromatherapy services. Rather, we offer Personal Journey, an aroma-reflex treatment that begins with a brief consultation with your therapist and a reflexology assessment. The treatment includes applying essential oils in gentle strokes over the nerve pathways to interrupt stress patterns. We believe true aromatherapy goes beyond the sense of smell to create an intensely deep state of relaxation and healing.

We offer all of our massages and body treatments as couples services. We have the ability to perform these as tandem experiences.

The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa's cozy serenity lounge relaxation area is chicly decorated with blue, green and neutral tones - reflecting the elements of air and water that are the inspiration for the spa's decor. The small space's design is quite simple, but there are still splashes of color and natural light, which beams down from the circular skylight. Wooden lounge chairs with soft white pillows make a good place to stretch out your legs and relax with one of the magazines or newspapers on hand in the room. Small wooden tables that look like drums sit nearby and add to the charm of the space. An eye-catching blue tiled-waterfall decorates one wall, while the others are covered with white curtains and white drapes, keeping the room private from the rest of The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa. Dark wood floors add to the warmth of the room.

We love the small booth-like nook, which can be closed off by drawing the sheer white curtains, in case you want to relax alone or have a quiet conversation with a friend. Tables hold refreshments like dried apricots and cranberries, raw almonds, bottled Fiji water, chilled cucumber and orange-infused water, tea and fresh whole fruit. Massages of all kinds are a main focus of The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa, so you'll have plenty to choose from. If you are not a regular spa-goer, your best bet would be to get the Peninsula Signature Custom Massage, which is customized for each individual, making it work for everyone. Your therapist will start by asking you what area you think needs the most work or what has been bothering you. Then, they'll take a look for themselves — but using reflexology, they'll take a look at your feet to "read" your body. And they'll mix their techniques, combining methods like deep tissue, sports and Swedish massage. If they start stretching your body, don't be alarmed — they're just using a shiatsu technique, which is a traditional Japanese massage.

If you're looking for ultimate luxury, you can't get any more lavish than incorporating precious gemstones into your massage. The Shiffa Precious Gem treatments use oils that contain gems and essential oils from flowers and herbs. Choose from sapphire, ruby, emerald and diamond — each claims to provide you with a different healing power.

The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa uses holistic medicine and a mix of Eastern and Western approaches in their treatments, like the aromatherapy massages that use natural essential oils. Each aroma does something different — from enhancing healing, to providing clarity or lifting your mood. The couple's Duet Harmony Massage uses aromatherapy oils during the massage and the Malibu Stone Massage uses heated stones to massage your body as well as incorporating Swedish techniques and aromatherapy oils.

If you want something with a little more intensity, the Reflexology massage applies pressure to reflex points in your hand and feet, which correspond to other organs of your body. Like in the signature massage, your therapist will start by "reading" your feet to see where you need certain work done on your body. You'll learn things about your body — from your allergies to your stress level -and afterward, you'll feel renewed.

The Shiatsu massage, applies pressure to specific parts of your body as your therapist uses their thumbs, fingers and palms to do so. They'll stretch your body to release tension and stress and leave you feeling balanced. Wear comfortable clothing to this treatment, which is performed on a Shiatsu mat in your hotel room. Another massage that takes place in your hotel room is the Thai Ceremony Massage, a traditional massage performed on a table and uses stretches similar to those used during yoga along with other massage techniques.

If you're pregnant, there's even a massage for you. The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa's Mother-To-Be massage uses shea butter and gentle techniques to distress and work out kinks. It should help you feel more comfortable during your second or third trimester. And if you think two hands just can't do the job, the Four Hand Indulgence offers two therapists who synchronize their techniques. You can't go wrong with any of the massages you choose. Most likely, you'll walk away with a new lease on life.

There is no waiting area in The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa per se; but the relaxation area is incredibly inviting. When you check in you're immediately escorted to the locker room and to a locker, where you'll place your belonging and change into your robe and slippers. Here, in the locker room, you can relax and read magazines or lounge in the Eucalyptus steam room. Or choose to venture back out into the lobby, where a staff member will escort you to the relaxation area, just around the corner that is draped off from the. Here, you'll find plenty of magazines and newspapers to read, tea and fruit-infused water to keep you hydrated and raw almonds and fruit to keep you satiated.

This quiet and relaxing room is decorated in blue, green and cream hues and features lounge chairs and a more secluded bench that is draped off so if you and a friend want more privacy, you can crawl into this space, cover yourself with a blanket and prop your legs up on an ottoman. You'll wait here before your treatment and can also unwind and rehydrate here afterwards. When you return, your therapist will most likely offer you some tea and a chocolate-covered fortune cookie — take them up on it — it's a great ending to a relaxing treatment.

The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa has a beautiful pool, located on the fifth floor rooftop that only guests of the hotel can use. The pool stretches 60 feet by 20 feet and has a whirlpool at the end. The pool is four feet deep and there’s no lifeguard on duty; so parents should always be watchful of their children. Twelve private cabanas surround the water - rent one for a luxurious pool day. The cabanas come equipped with flat-screen TVs, DVD players, cordless phones, a lounge chair, a table with chairs and a refrigerator stocked with refreshments. The cabanas also have a heating and cooling system so regardless of the temperature outside, you’ll be comfortable inside the cabanas.

The pool also offers amenities that you’ll need for fun in the sun - towels, bottled water and sunscreen are complimentary and available at the front desk. There isn’t much shade at all by the pool, so don’t forget to load on your sunscreen or rent a cabana to hide under.

Anything you need will be stocked on the counters in the locker room - there’s shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers and everything from shower caps and hairspray to razors and nail files is easy to find. They’ve thought of everything, making it easy to hit the spa before heading out to dinner or a meeting,
4. The bathrobe and slippers. The white terry-cloth bathrobe at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa is thick and cozy - thicker than the one you’ll find in the hotel rooms. The blue rubber sandals have traction on the bottom so you won’t slip walking around the wet showers or locker room You’ll be completely comfortable in these as you lounge around the spa.
5. Tea and fortune cookies. After your treatment, your therapist will ask you if you want some tea to drink in the relaxation room. You’ll get a small glass of tea with a fortune cookie that’s half covered in chocolate. It’s a delicious ritual we look forward to at every visit. Unfortunately, The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa’s seven treatment rooms don’t have any views. However, you won’t mind when you’re lying underneath the warm blankets on the treatment beds.

The interior design of The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa is modern and relaxing. The entire Four-Star spa is decorated in blue and green hues along with neutral colors of cream and brown. The lobby area is quite small, with just a reception desk and doors leading to the locker rooms. You'll check-in there and then be escorted by a staff member to the locker room. Once inside, you might not want to leave. The room is bright and cheery and stocked to the brim with everything you need to freshen up after your treatment. These relaxing locker rooms feature the same décor. and colors you'll find throughout The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa. The chic rooms have white and gray marble walls and cream and gray marble-tiled floors with soft, plush cream rugs. Other walls sparkle with tiny tiles of various colors of blue hues. Sea-foam green consoles are stocked with chilled towels, ice water and whole fresh fruit. A little further in is a sitting area, with two lounge chairs, a cream ottoman, and a table filled with magazines, for kicking back before moving into the next relaxation room. Modern and elegant touches like orchids and crystal lamps are scattered throughout the spa.

The relaxation area — called the serenity lounge in this spa's vernacular — features wooden lounge chairs with soft white pillows on them, so you can stretch out your legs and relax. Small drum-shaped wooden tables sit in front of the chairs so you can rest your beverages there while you read a magazine. A blue tiled waterfall is on one side of the wall, while other walls are covered with white curtains and white drapes, making the room feel very secluded from the rest of the spa, so you can get some quiet time. Floors are dark wood and a circular skylight sheds natural light into the tranquil room. For added privacy, a smaller room can be drawn closed with sheer white curtains, so you can lounge on the cushy blue bench in solitude.

Treatment rooms have a minimalist style, with dark blue walls, wooden floors and soft massage beds with white linens. An orchid sits on the counter area with a sink. There's a table on one side where you can leave your beverage and a hook on the wall for you to hang your robe.

The entire design of the spa offers a minimalist and modern approach that is utterly relaxing and comfortable. The colors evoke air and water — themes you'll find throughout the spa.

Spa Montage offers an array of soothing massages that can be customized to release every bit of tension and leave you feeling totally revitalized. The signature Montage massage is tailored to each guest using a range of bodywork techniques, custom-blended botanical oils and hot scented herbal towels. The Body Specifics treatment uses a blend of cardamom-amber botanical oil to nourish skin, while your therapist targets problem areas (neck and shoulder or hip and lower back) and relieves tension with heat packs. The combination of heat and massage is deeply relaxing.

The Personal Journey massage involves a custom blend of pure aromatic essential oils and delicate strokes along nerve pathways to break up stress in the body. The holistic aromatherapy treatment is super relaxing.

The reflexology massage relaxes the entire body by stimulating reflex pathways on the feet. Or, if the idea of having your lower back massaged while getting a shoulder rub sounds like pure heaven, book the Symphony in Massage. Not one but two therapists will work out all your kinks using botanical oils. The treatment ends with a simultaneous scalp and foot massage.

Spa Montage offers a co-ed mineral soaking pool that’s available to all guests on the third floor of the spa. It’s on the smaller side and it’s meant more for relaxing than swimming laps. Sit under the skylights and enjoy the natural light and relax in the perfectly warmed 102 F water. The pool area takes its style cues from 9th century Andalusia, Spain, which is known for its ornate, palace-like architecture. You’ll find pretty mosaic tiles — in blues, greens, turquoises and teals — on the walls throughout the locker room and high ceilings that make the space feel airy yet still secluded. It’s definitely quiet in there, so you can enjoy some private time with your partner on the padded wooden lounge chairs sectioned off by sheer curtains. There’s also a rooftop pool, but it’s open only to hotel guests.

1. The co-ed lounge and mineral pool is our favorite. It’s an intimate space where couples and friends can gather to relax in the water heated to an enjoyable 102 F. Skylights above let natural light in and the surrounding walls are covered with eye-catching blue mosaic tiles, which are in keeping with the Moroccan-inspired décor.

2. While you’re relaxing in the waiting area before your treatment, don’t forget to try some of the refreshments on the back counter. We highly recommend the strawberry and cucumber-infused ice water. It’s light and refreshing, and makes it easy to stay hydrated during your spa visit.

3. Spa-goers who stay overnight at Montage Beverly Hills have complimentary access to the Five-Star hotel’s spacious gym. You’ll find tons of cardio machines outfitted with personal TVs, free weights and a large yoga and Pilates studio. Take a fitness class for $25 — with options like body sculpting, indoor cycling and hip hop — or get one-on-one personal training. Hand towels, headphones, magazines, bottled water and fresh fruit are available.

4. Booking an hour-long treatment gets you complimentary access to the spa’s men’s and women’s locker rooms where you can stay a while after your treatment. You’ll find a bevy of amenities here including an herbal steam room, a sauna, a whirlpool and Swiss and deluge showers.

5. After your treatment is over, you’ll be bid adieu with a sweet treat from the hotel’s executive pastry chef Richard Ruskell, whose confections have been featured on The Food Network’s “Last Cake Standing.” His signature antioxidant mix of goji berries, dark chocolate chips and almond slivers is addicting.

When you book an appointment at Aqua Star Spa, you’ll have complimentary access to The Beverly Hilton’s gym. The 1,650-square-foot gym, which has hosted scores of celebrities and even President Barack Obama on a recent visit, lavishes guests with amenities, from complimentary headsets so that you can watch TV while you workout, to chilled bottled water, fresh fruits and local magazines to read, including Los Angeles Confidential and Angeleno.

The gym specializes in new equipment from Precor, so you’ll find plenty of machines from the brand, including ellipticals, stationary bikes, treadmills, a stair-climber and weight-training equipment. There’s also a full rack of free weights and a small area where you can work on your balance and strength with stability, Bosu and medicine balls.

Like the rest of The Beverly Hilton, the interior design of Aqua Star Spa takes its cues from the 1950s, featuring tons of retro-chic furnishings and décor. The spa, located next to the hotel’s pool, is done up in classic midcentury-modern style with brown and avocado-striped rugs and brown ottomans with large avocado-green polka dots.

In the relaxation lounge, you’ll find wide-seated white chairs topped with brown and gold woven pillows paired with long, rectangular beige ottomans. The glass tables in the lounge are topped with silver lamps that look like they came straight off the set of Mad Men. The treatment rooms convey a relaxing, beachy vibe with sand-colored walls and floors and a starfish placed atop each massage table. You’ll also find earthy abstract art on the walls and neutral-toned blankets to cozy up with.

The midcentury-modern locker rooms at Aqua Star Spa are bright and cheerful with 50s-appropriate avocado and chocolate hues. The well-lit space is stocked beauty products and styling tools, as well as plenty of amenities to help you freshen up before or after a treatment. You’ll find tall wooden lockers stocked with a plush robes and spa slippers, as well as plenty of shelves to stash your belongings. Guests at Aqua Star Spa gain complimentary access to The Beverly Hilton’s legendary Aqua Star Pool, located just outside the spa. The largest heated outdoor pool in Beverly Hills, Aqua Star Pool is a hot spot among celebrities — in fact, Angelina Jolie jumped in this pool in her Randolph Duke gown after winning a Golden Globe. The spa even offers a couple of treatments poolside, including a 30-minute, relaxing foot massage in the comfort of your lounge chair and a 15-minute, energizing chair massage.

Two of The Beverly Hilton’s restaurants offer dining poolside. For lunch, enjoy salads, soups and sandwiches from the retro Circa 55, including a delicious grilled chicken foccacia sandwich with artichoke and garlic tapenade and a grilled cheese sandwich on toasted sourdough with tomato soup. After 5 p.m., Trader Vic’s Lounge is open for Polynesian-themed small plates and exotic cocktails — most notably the original Mai Tai, invented by Trader Vic himself in 1944. Come hungry and nosh on starters like chicken satay in peanut sauce, a roll-your-own Kahlua pork spring roll with roasted Maui pineapple relish or seared ahi tuna sliders on Hawaiian sweet bread rolls with sriracha aioli and edamame coleslaw.

Forget austere European-style services or treatments made with out-there eastern influences in mind. With its location in star-studded Beverly Hills, the amenities at Aqua Star Spa at The Beverly Hilton were designed with one purpose in mind: keeping up appearances. You can do just that with a spin in the tanning station or a stint in the gym. Here are a few of this spa’s best amenities:

1. Spray Tan. You know you’re in Beverly Hills when a spa is equipped with a room dedicated to spray tans. Head to the St. Tropez spray-on station for a perfect California tan that lasts several days and fades naturally. Airbrush technicians will apply the solution for an immediate glow that deepens over the next eight hours. You can even add an aloe body scrub beforehand to maximize results.

2. Eucalyptus Steam Shower. After a long week at work, nothing feels better than a soothing shower — especially if it’s at Aqua Star Spa, where the steam shower uses eucalyptus to rid skin of pollutants and invigorate your senses.

3. Aqua Star Pool. The luxe Phytomer products are also on sale at the spa, if you’d like to purchase some to use at home.

5. The gym. Complimentary access to The Beverly Hilton’s gym means you can keep your spa day going for that much longer. Before a full-body massage, get your muscles warm in the fitness room followed by a post-workout sauna session. The Golden Globes, the Oscars nominee luncheon and the pre-Grammy Awards party are all held at the hotel, so there’s no telling who you might see in the relaxation lounge.

The Spa at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles offers a number of specialty massages. If you’re in need of a little acupressure, go for the Ku Nye, a massage that uses Tibetan techniques of acupressure, cupping and kneading; or if you need to soothe post-workout muscles, the yoga-like Swe-Thai massage is just right. Other massages include Raindrop Aromatherapy, which focuses on the alignment of the spine; stone therapy, which utilizes warm and cool stones to relieve muscle tension; and the Manipura, which brings energy to your body through reflexology. There’s even a little something for those suffering with jet lag — the Punta Mita Tequila, which uses tequila and sage to improve circulation, aid digestion and relieve fatigue. If you think your fatigue is just too much for one therapist to manage, opt for the Four Seasons Synchronized massage that’s performed in harmony by two therapists. However, our favorite massage here is the California Cabana. It’s a 60-minute treatment that’s performed poolside in one of the private cabanas, and since you’re in sunny California, it feels just right.
If you are a traditionalist, The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has you covered. The Four-Star spa also offers the basic massages (you know, the ones you’ve heard of), such as Swedish, deep-tissue, Shiatsu and maternity. You can also enhance your massage with the addition of scalp treatment or reflexology.

The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills offers a variety of wraps that will leave you feeling relaxed and renewed. If you literally don’t want to decide about one more thing — like which treatments to get — this is the way to go. Put yourself entirely in the hands of the skilled staff and completely relax.

2. Spa Montage is known for its anti-aging treatments, particularly its signature facial that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and firm up skin. The therapists use a powerful oxygen serum that supposedly stimulates the production of collagen and elastin (both of which start to wane with age). A marine mask hydrates and further helps firm skin. You’ll leave looking years younger.

3. If you enjoy water-based treatments, the Essential Waters treatment is for you. You’ll take a bath spiked with oils of neroli, bergamot and sandalwood as your therapist performs a water pressure massage. This is followed by another massage that involves long-strokes and a warm oil, an exfoliation treatment and a revitalizing Vichy Shower Rain Therapy, which involves alternating blasts of cool and warm water.

The invigorating treatment involves foot, hand and scalp massages, rain showers and mud and clay from Morocco and Spain to leave your skin feeling brand new. The glorious treatment ends with the application of a tangerine and fig body cream that we always want to take home with us.

For a more personalized treatment, opt for the Elements of Earth wrap. A therapist will talk with you about your concerns and customize your body scrub accordingly. Think of it as being wrapped in warm and organic cocoon of ingredients that are drawing out all those bad toxins. A scalp massage and refreshing Vichy shower are also involved. At the end, you pick the body cream you want to seal the deal with.

We’ll admit, the body sculpting treatment might sound weird at first. When we hear things like “connective tissue therapy” and “cellular waste,” we get a little skeptical. But we were sold when we were told it would “lower fluid retention.” Heck, we’ll do anything to reduce bloating and de-stress at the same time. The cool mud mask and gel is super nourishing — and we might have felt a little lighter afterward.

The Four-Star Beverly Hills spa focuses on holistic wellbeing and offers treatments that bring balance. When you get a treatment here, your therapist will explain everything she or he does, making you feel at ease and demonstrating extensive professional knowledge (without talking your ear off). Your therapist will also make suggestions as to what your body or skin needs to help you choose the perfect facial or massage. A therapist recently sent us home with a sample product made of paprika and other natural ingredients to help rid under-eye dark circles. We loved being given the option to try out a product before purchasing it.

Guests of Spa Montage who stay overnight at Montage Beverly Hills have complimentary access to the Five-Star hotel’s fitness center. It’s accessible through the main entrance and gift shop of the spa, so you can scoot over for a workout before or after your massage.

The gym is spacious with a large Pilates and yoga studio, free weights and plenty of cardio equipment, each equipped with personal TVs and headphones so you can plug in your iPod. Group fitness classes — such as body sculpting, indoor cycling and hip hop — are available for $25 and personal training or one-on-one yoga and Pilates training is available at $125 an hour. The facility is well-lit with floor-to-ceiling windows. The interior design of Spa Montage takes its style cues from the ancient Andalusia region of Spain, which is known for its elaborate palaces and Arabic-inspired architecture. You’ll feel like you’re in a Moroccan sanctuary with large vases on the ground, lots of pretty mosaic tiling and large artwork with golden antique frames.

Throughout the Four-Star Beverly Hills spa, you’ll find mostly neutral colors like brown and cream offset by teal, foam green, rust, orange and antique metals. There are skylights that let in warm natural light, as well as ornate lamps and light fixtures that look like hand-painted glass and antique bronze. The countertops in the changing area are made of green and grey marble, while the mirrors in the locker rooms feature golden mosaics surrounded by large golden sconces.

Orchids and other fresh flowers keep the locker room smelling fresh, and the co-ed lounge has a two-story wall made of blue, green, turquoise and teal mosaic tiling. The high ceiling and skylight make the room feel airy and spacious, but still private. The quiet mineral pool area is a great space to spend time with your partner — you’ll find padded wooden lounge chairs lining the wall separated by sheer curtains for added privacy.

Spa Montage offers a co-ed mineral soaking pool that’s available to all guests on the third floor of the spa. It’s on the smaller side and it’s meant more for relaxing than swimming laps. Sit under the skylights and enjoy the natural light and relax in the perfectly warmed 102 F water. The pool area takes its style cues from 9th century Andalusia, Spain, which is known for its ornate, palace-like architecture. You’ll find pretty mosaic tiles — in blues, greens, turquoises and teals — on the walls throughout the locker room and high ceilings that make the space feel airy yet still secluded. It’s definitely quiet in there, so you can enjoy some private time with your partner on the padded wooden lounge chairs sectioned off by sheer curtains. There’s also a rooftop pool, but it’s open only to hotel guests.

Spa Montage, located at the Five-Star Montage Beverly Hills hotel, opened in 2008, so it hasn’t been renovated. You’ll find the Four-Star facilities look like new with Moroccan-inspired mosaic tiles, bright skylights and neutral tones on the walls and furnishings. The entire hotel is LEED gold certified, thanks to the building’s dedication to sustainability, including energy-efficient systems, a high recycling rate and construction using local building materials.

If you find yourself hungry and thirsty after a massage, don’t worry, Spa Montage provides plenty of refreshments. Water or a snack is always in reach — refreshments are provided in the waiting room, locker room, gym and upon exiting the luxurious spa. Nosh on snacks like fresh fruit, dried apricots, cranberries and raw almonds in the waiting room, which has a Moroccan-inspired décor with a mosaic-tiled fireplace, satin pillows and ornate tiled light fixtures. On the back counter of the room, you’ll find bottled water, individual bags of tea and a refreshing strawberry and cucumber-infused ice water. In the locker room, bottled and chilled water is kept in the back by the sauna, steam room and whirlpool. The gym, open to hotel guests, provides fresh fruit and bottled water as well.

After your treatment you’ll also be given a yummy antioxidant snack mix of goji berries, dark chocolate chips and almond slivers made by Montage Beverly Hill’s executive pastry chef. It’s a little farewell present that lets you know the spa takes seriously its mission to encourage you to make healthy habits at home.

The relaxation area at Spa Montage is a soothing space that takes its style cues from the Andalusia region of Spain. You’ll find neutral colors and a large skylight window that lets in plenty of natural light. There are Moroccan-inspired light fixtures colored with tiled glass and antique bronze, as well as vases, plants, sofas, lounge chairs and ottomans spread throughout the room.
 
A fireplace keeps the relaxation area toasty warm, while soft white chenille blankets and burnt-orange pillows give the space a cozy feel. Magazines are stacked on the coffee table to read while you wait and there are snacks along the back wall to munch on, such as fresh fruit, dried apricots, cranberries and raw almonds. If you get thirsty, grab a bottle of water, sip some hot tea or try the strawberry and cucumber-infused ice water — it’s sweet, refreshing and delicious.
 
If you continue walking past the relaxation room you’ll come to the Four-Star spa’s locker rooms, which are pretty and spacious. They feature the same relaxing neutral brown tones you’ll see throughout the spa and are kept immaculately clean. There are rows of lockers where you can store your belongings, plus benches, private changing rooms, bathrooms, showers and a vanity area. On the counter you’ll find all the amenities you need to help you get ready after your treatment, including blow-dryers, shower caps, bath products, cotton buds, mouthwash and lotion. There are also smaller vanities by each row of lockers if you’d prefer to dry your hair or apply products there.

In the back of the locker rooms you’ll find a whirlpool tub, a rejuvenating herbal steam room, a sauna and Swiss and deluge showers. Chaise lounge chairs are available if you’d like to lie back and take a catnap. You’ll also find bottled water, chilled water and plenty of fresh towels back there.

Ah, to spend the day in your robe — Spa Montage offers cozy robes and comfortable slippers for you to pad around in during your visit. The slippers are white flip-flops contoured to fit the curves of your feet. With traction on the bottom, you won't slip and slide throughout the locker room or pool area. The white robes are sleek on the outside and extra soft on the inside — perfect to pull around you as you unwind in the relaxation lounge beside the fireplace. The robes don't have any pockets, so just relax and leave your cell phone and keys in your locker. You'll be given a key to your locker on a stretchy bracelet decorated with blue, teal and brown gemstones that's in keeping with the spa's Moroccan-inspired theme.

2. While you’re relaxing in the waiting area before your treatment, don’t forget to try some of the refreshments on the back counter. We highly recommend the strawberry and cucumber-infused ice water. It’s light and refreshing, and makes it easy to stay hydrated during your spa visit.

3. Spa-goers who stay overnight at Montage Beverly Hills have complimentary access to the Five-Star hotel’s spacious gym. You’ll find tons of cardio machines outfitted with personal TVs, free weights and a large yoga and Pilates studio. Take a fitness class for $25 — with options like body sculpting, indoor cycling and hip hop — or get one-on-one personal training. Hand towels, headphones, magazines, bottled water and fresh fruit are available.

The calming space has beige walls and a large skylight window in the ceiling that casts a warm natural light over the room. Ornate light fixtures colored with tiled glass and antique bronze hang from the ceiling and you’ll find cozy, chenille foam green sofas, lounge chairs and ottomans throughout the room. Called the “Ultimate Indulgence,” this wrap begins with a full exfoliation to rejuvenate your skin, followed by a warm hydrating wrap to relax and soothe skin. The finishing touch is a full-body massage that uses caviar to nourish and energize. This treatment is administered by not one, but two therapists — and four hands equal double the relaxation. Other decadent body treatments at La Prairie include a skin-transforming body polish that utilizes the exfoliating effects of micro-crystals of diamonds, and a body mask that uses rare ingredients derived from sea plants concentrated with antioxidants and restorative minerals.

You can find the traditional Swedish, deep-tissue and sports massage at the Beverly Hills Hotel Spa by La Prairie. Hot stone therapy, pre- and post-natal massage, and reflexology are also on the menu, but our eyes lit up when we found the scalp and foot therapy treatments. The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa has a beautiful pool, located on the fifth floor rooftop that only guests of the hotel can use. The pool stretches 60 feet by 20 feet and has a whirlpool at the end. The pool is four feet deep and there’s no lifeguard on duty; so parents should always be watchful of their children. Twelve private cabanas surround the water - rent one for a luxurious pool day. The cabanas come equipped with flat-screen TVs, DVD players, cordless phones, a lounge chair, a table with chairs and a refrigerator stocked with refreshments. The cabanas also have a heating and cooling system so regardless of the temperature outside, you’ll be comfortable inside the cabanas.

The pool also offers amenities that you’ll need for fun in the sun - towels, bottled water and sunscreen are complimentary and available at the front desk. There isn’t much shade at all by the pool, so don’t forget to load on your sunscreen or rent a cabana to hide under.

We recommend starting your day with a breakfast or lunch on the roof, which offers beautiful views of Beverly Hills, Century City, downtown L.A., and Hollywood, as well as a lovely garden-like atmosphere that's incredibly relaxing. Start there with a meal and then head into the spa to be pampered; or end at the Roof Garden for lunch and a cocktail.

The Roof Garden breakfast menu features light items like fresh fruit smoothies and homemade granola with yogurt and berries. More decadent options include eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon and fresh asparagus, a three-egg omelet, corned beef hash with poached eggs, and biscuits and gravy. Whatever you choose to eat on the Roof Garden, and whenever you choose to eat it, you won't be disappointed — the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed, making it a great way to begin or end your spa day.

Of course, if you're looking for a more elegant breakfast or lunch, head to the Four-Star Belvedere restaurant, located on the first floor, or the Living Room, where you can also enjoy high tea. The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa has a gym located inside that is available for hotel guests only. The gym is open from 5 a.m. for the early-risers and until 11 p.m. for the night owls. Recently renovated, the gym offers a variety of Technogym cardio machines, including six treadmills, three ellipticals, three cycling bikes and a wave machine so you can work up a sweat. Each offers a built-in TV for watching shows or listening to music. The TV screen changes so you can also keep tabs on how much time you have left, how many calories you worked off, your resistance and more. You’ll also find a weight station stocked with a variety of weight-lifting machines, six-pound medicine balls, tension bands, foam rollers, balance balls, and hand weights that range from three to 80 pounds.

Personal trainers are available for training within the gym as well as or yoga and Pilates instruction. Just speak with the staff at the spa or the concierge at the hotel to set that up.

If you’re working out in the fitness center, you can also use the Spa’s locker rooms, located to the left of the front entrance of the Spa’s front door. Pop into the eucalyptus-infused steam room to sweat out any toxins and use the towels and other amenities that you need inside. Forgot your workout clothes? Don’t worry about it. The hotel has some for you to rent - from tops and shorts to gym shoes and socks.

Small wooden tables that look like drums sit nearby and add to the charm of the space. An eye-catching blue tiled-waterfall decorates one wall, while the others are covered with white curtains and white drapes, keeping the room private from the rest of The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa. Dark wood floors add to the warmth of the room.

We love the small booth-like nook, which can be closed off by drawing the sheer white curtains, in case you want to relax alone or have a quiet conversation with a friend. Tables hold refreshments like dried apricots and cranberries, raw almonds, bottled Fiji water, chilled cucumber and orange-infused water, tea and fresh whole fruit. We recommend savoring this part of the experience at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa - prop your feet up, cozy up with a fluffy blanket and stretch out before or after your treatment to get the most relaxation out of your visit.

When you are escorted to the locker rooms at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa, a staff member will take you to a locker where you'll find a white terry-cloth bathrobe and slippers waiting for you inside. The robe is thick and cozy, much thicker than the one you'll find in The Peninsula Beverly Hills' hotel rooms. There's a large "Peninsula Spa" logo in blue and gold on the sleeve of the white robe, which is substantial enough that you'll feel comfortable walking around in it. The blue slip-on rubber sandals have treads on the bottom, which is a nice touch, so you have traction when walking around the wet showers or locker room. Inside your locker, you'll also find a loofah wrapped in plastic to use in the shower and a jewelry holder for any jewelry that you want to take off before your treatment. There are also numerous padded hangers to hang up your clothes so you can slip into the comfy robe and head to the relaxation room. These robes and slippers are super comfortable; you might not want to leave the spa.

When you call to make your reservation at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa, you'll be asked whether you want a female or male therapist to administer your treatment. Of course, if you are more comfortable with one gender or another, be sure to let the reservationist know so that arrangements can be made. Your therapist will bring you hot tea to enjoy after your treatment in the relaxation area along with a chocolate-covered fortune cookie. You have to end your renewing treatment with a new inspiring thought, so crack open that fortune cookie — hopefully it has something good to say.

The interior design of The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa is modern and relaxing. The entire Four-Star spa is decorated in blue and green hues along with neutral colors of cream and brown. The lobby area is quite small, with just a reception desk and doors leading to the locker rooms. You'll check-in there and then be escorted by a staff member to the locker room. Once inside, you might not want to leave. The room is bright and cheery and stocked to the brim with everything you need to freshen up after your treatment. These relaxing locker rooms feature the same décor. and colors you'll find throughout The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa. The chic rooms have white and gray marble walls and cream and gray marble-tiled floors with soft, plush cream rugs. Other walls sparkle with tiny tiles of various colors of blue hues. Sea-foam green consoles are stocked with chilled towels, ice water and whole fresh fruit. A little further in is a sitting area, with two lounge chairs, a cream ottoman, and a table filled with magazines, for kicking back before moving into the next relaxation room. Modern and elegant touches like orchids and crystal lamps are scattered throughout the spa.

The relaxation area — called the serenity lounge in this spa's vernacular — features wooden lounge chairs with soft white pillows on them, so you can stretch out your legs and relax. Small drum-shaped wooden tables sit in front of the chairs so you can rest your beverages there while you read a magazine. A blue tiled waterfall is on one side of the wall, while other walls are covered with white curtains and white drapes, making the room feel very secluded from the rest of the spa, so you can get some quiet time. Floors are dark wood and a circular skylight sheds natural light into the tranquil room. For added privacy, a smaller room can be drawn closed with sheer white curtains, so you can lounge on the cushy blue bench in solitude.

Treatment rooms have a minimalist style, with dark blue walls, wooden floors and soft massage beds with white linens. An orchid sits on the counter area with a sink. There's a table on one side where you can leave your beverage and a hook on the wall for you to hang your robe.

The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa’s locker rooms are pretty and comfortable. Yes, we said pretty. These relaxing locker rooms are elegantly decorated with white and gray marble walls and cream and gray marble-tiled floors covered with plush cream rugs throughout. Other walls in the washroom area are tiled with tiny spots of soft blue hues.

Sea-foam green console tables provide a surface for a bowl of ice and cucumber filled with chilling towels, a cooler of ice water and a platter of fresh whole fruit. You’ll find a sitting area with two lounge chairs, a cream-colored ottoman and a table filled with magazines and an orchid flower on top, in case you want to relax before heading to The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa’s relaxation room. Next to the sitting area are two long shelves filled with plush white Peninsula Spa-logoed body towels. You’ll also find a scale, in case you want to weigh yourself - but why? The locker area features 12 sea-foam green lockers, where you can create your own password on an automatic lock keypad. We like this feature as it allows you to create a simple password to use to open/reopen your locker and you don’t have to carry around a key.

Across from the lockers, you’ll find a marble vanity with two crystal lamps with darker blue lampshades and a large mirror above it. The vanity is filled with all the essentials you’ll need -hairdryers, hairspray, body lotion, facial cleanser, combs, brushes, deodorant, cotton swabs - do we need to go on? You’ll also find shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the showers so you can get ready if you need to head somewhere right after your treatment. Of course, there are restrooms for you to use as well. And don’t forget to spend some time relaxing in the eucalyptus-infused steam room, located right between the lockers and the shower area. Sit inside for a few minutes and breathe in the invigorating aroma. You’ll sweat out any toxics you might have put in your body the night before - cocktails in Beverly Hills, maybe?

They’ve thought of everything, making it easy to hit the spa before heading out to dinner or a meeting,
4. The bathrobe and slippers. The white terry-cloth bathrobe at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa is thick and cozy - thicker than the one you’ll find in the hotel rooms. The blue rubber sandals have traction on the bottom so you won’t slip walking around the wet showers or locker room You’ll be completely comfortable in these as you lounge around the spa.
5. Tea and fortune cookies. After your treatment, your therapist will ask you if you want some tea to drink in the relaxation room. You’ll get a small glass of tea with a fortune cookie that’s half covered in chocolate. It’s a delicious ritual we look forward to at every visit. The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa staff can certainly help you coordinate your salon and spa visits. The salon is actually located separately from the spa, on the first floor of the hotel, while the Spa is located on the fifth floor. The salon’s hours differ from those of the hotel, but the staff can help you coordinate and arrange your visits so that you’re not getting your hair done before a facial or a massage after a spray tan. The salon is open on Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. If you need your hair done for a special event or evening out, but can’t make it in during the daytime hours, the salon can open after-hours for an additional fee-just let staff know and they can arrange it for you.

There is no waiting area in The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa per se; but the relaxation area is incredibly inviting. When you check in you're immediately escorted to the locker room and to a locker, where you'll place your belonging and change into your robe and slippers. Here, in the locker room, you can relax and read magazines or lounge in the Eucalyptus steam room. Or choose to venture back out into the lobby, where a staff member will escort you to the relaxation area, just around the corner that is draped off from the. Here, you'll find plenty of magazines and newspapers to read, tea and fruit-infused water to keep you hydrated and raw almonds and fruit to keep you satiated.

This quiet and relaxing room is decorated in blue, green and cream hues and features lounge chairs and a more secluded bench that is draped off so if you and a friend want more privacy, you can crawl into this space, cover yourself with a blanket and prop your legs up on an ottoman. You'll wait here before your treatment and can also unwind and rehydrate here afterwards. When you return, your therapist will most likely offer you some tea and a chocolate-covered fortune cookie — take them up on it — it's a great ending to a relaxing treatment.

Unfortunately, The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa’s seven treatment rooms don’t have any views. However, you won’t mind when you’re lying underneath the warm blankets on the treatment beds.
