Born and raised in Boston, Alexa DeMarco was introduced to the restaurant industry at a young age. She pursued an education at Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart before attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Business Management Program. Fluent in Italian and Spanish and having learned the ins and outs of working in a kitchen and restaurant through family owned businesses, DeMarco decided to round out her experience with a concentration in club management. She was then given the opportunity to join the Hopkinton Country Club, Hopkinton, Massachusetts where she was responsible for directing all aspects of the private club’s food and beverage outlets. DeMarco’s strong knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry next led her to accepting a position with the XV Beacon Hotel. She became the Dining Room Manager for The Federalist Restaurant in Boston, a French fine-dining restaurant. She was then recruited by Chef Jamie Mammano to oversee the private dining sales for The Federalist and the XV Beacon Hotel’s Wine Cellar. When Mooo... opened (formerly The Federalist) in August of 2007, DeMarco became Assistant General Manager, and eventually became General Manager of Mooo...in November of 2008.
