    Is LAVO a romantic restaurant?

We wouldn’t consider LAVO too romantic, considering the sound level inside the Las Vegas restaurant. Take into consideration that LAVO isn’t just an Italian restaurant, but it’s also a nightclub and lounge that sprawls more than 20,000 square feet. You’ll have a tough time finding that balance between a lively buzz and an intimate setting, just based on the sheer size of LAVO. If romance is what you’re after, you may want to consider going to another location inside The Palazzo. But if you’re set on LAVO, we’d recommend snagging a spot on the terrace, which overlooks Las Vegas Boulevard — it will give you a glittering backdrop for your date night.

What are the five best things to order at LAVO?

LAVO, equally well known for its nightclub, might surprise you with the number and quality of its food options. The Italian restaurant in the heart of Las Vegas earns high praise for its cuisine — so with that in mind, here’s what we think are the five best things to order:

1.Meatballs: Made from fresh ground A-5 Kobe beef, these meatballs can come with sausage ragu, whipped fresh ricotta or with a salad and garlic crostini.

    2. Chicken Dominic: This crispy chicken dish comes with a white balsamic sauce, potatoes and red chili flakes for a wholly original Italian entrée.

    3. Sea bass: LAVO’s most popular dish roasts Chilean sea bass and adds in fresh heirloom tomatoes, butter and crispy portobellos to make a seafood dream.

    4. Carne pizza: If you enjoy cold cuts, then this pizza topped with sopressata, prosciutto, tomato, pepperoncini and fresh mozzarella will be right up your alley.

    5. Oreos zeppole: The most popular and original dessert on LAVO’s menu features little fried dough bites and a malted vanilla milkshake.

What are desserts like at LAVO?

LAVO’s dessert menu has more than just a few dishes — it offers you cocktails, wines, cordials, amaros, grappas, coffees and teas to top off your meal. As far as the dishes go, you’ll see the gelatos, sorbets, fresh fruit and tiramisu that you’d expect to find at an Italian restaurant, but LAVO also a few original spins that’ll keep you salivating. The most popular dessert proves to the Oreo zeppole, which is served with a malted vanilla milkshake. You’ll also see a panna cotta cheesecake, a strawberry shortcake and a rolled chocolate seven-layer cake.

Dessert cocktails include the Tiramisu, a mix of amaretto, Bailey’s and mascarpone; or the Raspberry Truffle, made with Absolut Vanilla, Chambord and white chocolate.

LAVO’s dessert wines include a 2004 MaculanTorcolato and a 2005 Inniskillin Vidal, among others, with cordials including Bertagnoli limoncello and Frangelico. You’ll have a number of amaros and grappas to help you digest your meal, with an amaro tasting for $17 and a grappa tasting for $20. What is the menu like at LAVO?

LAVO offers a menu filled with luxe spins on traditional Italian foods, such as the one-pound Kobe beef meatballs. You’ll have a variety of Italian dishes to choose from, with appetizers, a raw seafood bar, salads, soups, the aforementioned meatballs, pizzas, pastas, potato sides, vegetable sides, steaks, house specialties and a slew of desserts and cocktails. You might think of LAVO first as a nightclub, but that would be doing the menu and the wait staff at the Las Vegas restaurant a disservice. Once you’ve tasted the meatballs, the roasted Chilean sea bass or the Oreo zeppoles for dessert, you just might have to change the way you think about LAVO. Its original takes on familiar Italian dishes and inventive ingredients make LAVO more than just a pretty face — though the Roman bathhouse atmosphere surely doesn’t hurt the experience.

What is the best table at LAVO?

We think the booths inside LAVO are the best tables in the house. From one of these booths, you’ll have a great view of most of the restaurant and lounge. In particular, you should try to reserve table 64. And if the noise levels inside the Las Vegas restaurant and lounge are too much, head out to its terrace, where you can enjoy views of the Strip while you sip on cocktails or order a full meal. Each section of LAVO maintains its own hours, though the restaurant and lounge are open seven days a week, so you’ll be able to get in and get a table, no matter which day you visit.

What is the dress code at LAVO?

LAVO has a dressy-casual dress code, which is in line with the Las Vegas restaurant’s dual status as a lounge and nightclub. If you plan to go to LAVO just for dinner, you’ll be fine on the more casual side; but if you plan to stay for the nightlife, we’d recommend wearing something a bit nicer — think of a collared shirt or cocktail dress. But no matter how you dress, you’ll be able to enjoy LAVO’s surprising cuisine, chic atmosphere and great location near the entrance of the Palazzo hotel. So stop in for just a bite to eat, or linger a little longer and dance the night away.

©FiveStarTravelCorporation LAVO has a Roman bathhouse design that’s punctuated by stylish accents, such as Murano chandeliers.
