When was The Trump Spa New York last renovated?
In spring 2012, The Trump Spa New York completed its first-ever renovation since it opened in January 1997. The renovations mark the spa’s 15th anniversary and are extensive — they include not only the spa, but also the entire concourse level of the hotel. Designed by Ivanka Trump, the Forbes Travel Guide recommended spa’s $8 million redesign includes an expanded Salt Pure pool, a reconfigured TechnoGym fitness center, and new (much more spacious) treatment rooms. Prior to this 2012 update, Trump Spa replaced all of its TechnoGym equipment in 2006 creating an experience that’s both elegant and state-of-the-art.

Which bars are located near The Trump Spa New York?
As you may have heard New York City does have a few bars — or, more accurately speaking, a few thousand — including a couple recommended spots within walking distance of Trump International Hotel & Tower New York.
If you’re in the mood to cap off your treatment at The Trump Spa New York with a tasty cocktail right at the hotel, our Forbes Travel Guide editors suggest splurging at the bar of Five-Star restaurant Jean Georges. Robert at the Museum of Arts and Design, which is located across from the hotel on the other side of Columbus Circle, is another recommended spot that offers a clear view of Broadway all the way to the Upper West Side. The Empire Hotel’s trendy rooftop bar is a few blocks up on 63rd Street and Columbus Avenue, but if it’s a glass of fine wine you’re craving, you’ll pass plenty of good wine bars — including Barcibo, one of our favorites — along the same route you’d take to The Empire Hotel. -

Which subway stop is closest to The Trump Spa New York?
Not only is New York’s venerable subway system fairly easy to figure out, it also blankets Manhattan with stops on what sometimes feels like every other corner. You’ll have no trouble finding your way to Columbus Circle, which is home to one of the largest subway stations in the city as well as to Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Trump International Hotel & Tower New York and The Trump Spa New York. The A, B, C and D lines all intersect here, as do the 1 and 2 trains. If none of those subway lines are convenient, you can also walk a couple of blocks to pick up the N, R and Q trains right next to famous Carnegie Hall. -

Which restaurants are located near The Trump Spa New York?
Whether you’re craving a post-treatment Five-Star feast or gourmet on-the-go snack, you won’t have to go far from The Trump Spa New York to find some appetizing eats. Inside the Trump International Hotel & Tower New York itself, Five-Star French cuisine is available at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Jean Georges, while if you’re in the mood for more casual fare, Nougatine (also by Vongerichten) is open for lunch and offers outdoor dining on a patio facing Central Park.
Beyond the hotel you’ll find the area surrounding Columbus Circle packed with restaurants and delis of all sorts, but our Forbes Travel Guide editors are particularly fond of Bouchon Bakery, which serves mouthwatering croissants, macaroons and French tarts, as well as Five-Star Per Se from award-winning chef Thomas Keller — both restaurants are located within the nearby Time Warner Center.
Robert at the Museum of Arts and Design is a great place for light bites and a cocktail and, finally, Whole Foods Market at the Time Warner Center is a gourmet supermarket with tasty nibbles for breakfast, lunch and dinner served a la carte. -

Which attractions are located near The Trump Spa New York?
Some of New York City’s most iconic attractions and museums are within a short walk of Trump International Hotel & Tower New York and its second-floor The Trump Spa New York. The closest is famed Central Park, which is literally just outside the door of the hotel. One of the most-beloved green spaces in the city, the park teems with joggers, cyclists, roller bladers and lazily, happily strolling families — come here for NYC people-watching at its best, whether you’re exploring by foot or from the comfort of a romantic horse-drawn carriage. (Our Forbes Travel Guide editors think the former option is a better way to see the park, particularly for first-time visitors.)
Further up Central Park West is the American Museum of Natural History and attached Hayden Planetarium at the Frederick Phineas and Sandra Priest Rose Center for Earth and Space, while if you head about 10 short blocks south from the hotel on Eighth Avenue, then take a left on 47th Street, you’ll run smack dab into the middle of the Theater District and all of Time Square’s commercial glory. -

What should I wear to a treatment at The Trump Spa New York?
Comfort should be your guiding principle in terms of deciding what to wear for your treatment at The Trump Spa New York. Since the spa is only open to guests of Trump International Hotel & Tower New York you won’t have to step foot outside the hotel to get to the spa, so wear your guestroom bathrobe, workout gear, a bathing suit, a formal dress — whatever you’d like. Once you’re there the spa will provide you with a robe and slippers to wear during your visit.
Keep in mind that you’ll also have access to the spa’s Salt Pure pool and fitness center, so regardless of what you wear to the spa, our Forbes Travel Guide editors recommend bringing workout clothes and a swimsuit with you so you can jump in the pool or on a treadmill after your treatment if you’re so inclined. -
On June 25Forbes Travel Guide Inspector answered the question:
Are there any specialized treatments for men at The Trump Spa New York?
Most of the luxurious treatments available at The Trump Spa New York are designed to accommodate both men and women, but there is one specialized service, the Men’s Skin Conditioning Treatment, that is specifically catered towards men. This deep-cleansing therapy will first attack blocked pores while smoothing and conditioning the texture of your skin, and finishes with a stress-relieving neck and foot massage.
Our Forbes Travel Guide editors recommend allowing ample time afterward to unwind in the spa’s fitness center and locker room, where you can take a dip in the 55-foot Salt Pure pool, burn off a few calories on the treadmill or simply sit back and relax in a sauna or steam bath. -

Who should I tip at The Trump Spa New York?
Our Forbes Travel Guide editors appreciate the fact that a 20 percent gratuity is automatically added to your bill at The Trump Spa New York, which is located on the second floor of Five-Star Trump International Hotel & Tower New York. This takes the guesswork out of figuring out how much gratuity to leave your therapist and means you won’t have to carry your purse or wallet with you into the treatment room.
Of course, if you received a particularly memorable massage from your therapist or exceptional service from the spa’s receptionist — perhaps he or she got you in at the last minute — you’re more than welcome to add extra gratuity to your bill or to tip whomever you’d like, however much you’d like. -

What unique treatments are available at The Trump Spa New York?
The Trump Spa New York has three only-in-New-York treatments our Forbes Travel Guide editors feel are well worth checking out during your visit.
The first is the Double Manhattan, which combines Trump-tailored skin care with the Sole Soother, a tension-relieving treatment designed to restore your “sole” by pampering your feet. Another unique treatment is the New Yorker, which combines the Sole Soother with Sleep Well, a treatment perfect for tired and jet-lagged travelers that features aromatherapy and a gentle face and scalp massage that just might have you drifting off to sleep before too long. Finally, the opulent Harmonizing Gemstone massage, which was added to the spa’s services menu in 2012, might be one of your only chances to feel what it’s like to be massaged with crushed gems.
