Where is Marinus located?
When staying at the beautiful and luxurious Bernardus Lodge, you simply must enjoy a meal at the hotel’s Four-Star restaurant, Marinus. You certainly won’t be disappointed. Marinus is located at 415 W. Carmel Valley Road among the scenic vineyards of Carmel Valley, 120 miles south of San Francisco. With such a location, the view from the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking. Bernardus Lodge also features Bernardus Winery so it comes to no surprise that a restaurant located on an exclusive winery is going to have a large wine selection. Marinus offers more than 1,800 wines to choose from so be sure to take in the scenery along with a few glasses of vino.

If you’re staying at Bernardus Lodge, be sure to dine at Marinus restaurant, which serves dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 6 until 9 p.m. Chef Cal Stamenov puts out perfectly executed dishes such as the prime beef filet that is oak grilled and served with a twice baked potato with applewood-smoked bacon and cipollini onion jus. Don’t forget to end your meal with one of the simple, fresh desserts like the nasturtium flower with nasturtium custard, honey puree, hazelnut streusel and red plum sorbet.
Since Marinus only serves dinner, you’ll have to enjoy breakfast and lunch at Bernardus Lodge’s other dining venue, Wickets. -
Whatever you choose to wear for your dinner at Marinus should be just as sophisticated and elegant as the atmosphere, location and chic menu. Since the dress code at Marinus is formal, the staff suggests slacks, dress shirts and dresses for women and for men, a jacket is required but a tie is not. So, ditch the jeans and T-shirts, and put on something a little more fancy. Break out that dress you’ve been dying to wear and men, it’s time to get that jacket pressed. Dining at Marinus is a special occasion, so be sure to show up looking your best.

It’s hard to imagine why anyone would want to cancel a reservation at Bernardus Lodge’s famed Four-Star Marinus. You’re not just foregoing a meal, but you’re depriving yourself of a culinary experience. But should something come up and you need to cancel, the restaurant staff will be more than understanding. Just be sure to give the restaurant a call in advance to cancel to allow for other guests who might be waiting for a reservation to open up. Of course, when you call to cancel, staff can accommodate you and make a reservation for another time if you would like to reschedule. And we definitely suggest you reschedule — Marinus is certainly worth the experience.
