If you are looking to do some shopping before or after a visit to Spa at The Broadmoor, you won’t have to go far; there are a number shops right at The Broadmoor. The Five-Star spa and the salon carry several lines of skincare products and cosmetics, while the Golf and Tennis Pro Shops and the Fitness Shop keep aces, aspiring aces, swimmers and joggers alike fully covered. Meanwhile, just steps away from the spa are the Shops at The Broadmoor. Besides multiple clothing boutiques for men, women, children and even pets, the Shops at The Broadmoor offer art galleries, lifestyle retail outlets filled with accessories for your home and office, newsstands and even a jeweler and a gourmet hall, as well as the seasonal Christmas House, selling festive decorations and gifts, which is perfect if you want to bring back souvenirs for your loved ones during the holidays.

Colorado Springs and its environs offer a myriad of sightseeing and recreational activities; so once you’ve had your fill of relaxation at Spa at The Broadmoor, check out the local attractions. You can arrange for transportation to everything from Garden of the Gods (a national landmark renowned for its sandstone formations) and the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad to the artsy, funky shopping districts of Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City. If you’re feeling lucky, book a shuttle to Cripple Creek, an old mining-turned-gambling town about 45 minutes away from the resort; hit the casinos and you just might win back the money you spent at the Five-Star spa.

The closest full-service restaurant to Spa at The Broadmoor is the Golf Club Dining Room & Grille, which is two floors down on the ground level. It serves casual American fare in a warm, comfy setting overlooking the golf course. Other on-premise notables include the Golden Bee, an English-style pub that’s cozy by day but rollicking with ragtime at night; the Tavern, a classic chophouse; Summit, The Broadmoor’s trendiest eatery and lounge, featuring contemporary cuisine and craft cocktails; and of course the Five-Star Penrose Room, where you’ll be able to enjoy wonderful French cuisine in an elegant environment. Unlike Spa at The Broadmoor, though, both Summit and the Penrose Room do observe dress codes, so plan accordingly.

Just downstairs from Spa at The Broadmoor is the Golf Club Grille, a classic tee-side watering hole bedecked in dark wood and plaid. A two-minute walk from in the Main Complex, the Hotel Bar is likewise a convivial, clubby affair, whose semicircular sitting room off the bar affords a great view of the resort and Cheyenne Mountain beyond. The West Lobby Bar is one of The Broadmoor’s best-kept secrets, from the handsomely appointed sunken lounge to the terrace overlooking Cheyenne Lake. As for the lounge at Summit, it’s no secret - the craft cocktails have major cred among connoisseurs. But if you’re just looking for a good old-fashioned beer, the Golden Bee pub is your place. You won’t have to stray far from Spa at The Broadmoor to grab a drink or to find a place to chat, giving you just a few more options to help you relax before or after any treatment at the Five-Star spa.

Limited services to children are offered. Nail service are available for those ages 4 to 12 and select massage and facials are available for those aged 16 or older.

The Spa has its own retail sales area within the facility. There is a shop at the fitness center, as well. The golf and tennis shops are located in the same building. All other Broadmoor retail boutiques (25 in all) are within walking distance of The Spa.

The Golf Club Dining Room and Golf Club Grille are located in the spa and golf club building. All other Broadmoor restaurants are within walking distance.

The Spa at The Broadmoor offers two separate retail areas to bring the Spa experience home. Located on the third floor of the Golf Club building, the Spa retail area boasts USPA body and skin care, Emergin C, Le Vin Olavie, Zents and Teatulia.

Located on the second floor, the Salon retail area offers a selection of nail colors, hair products by USPA and mineral makeup.

The waiting area at Spa at The Broadmoor sets the tone for the peaceful, rejuvenating experience to come. Centered around a circular sofa beneath a chandelier, the area boasts marble floors and a striking mural of bathing beauties in a pastoral setting; bath and body products and gifts line the shelves and tables. Inside the spa, there are a number of relaxation lounges where you can hang out until your treatment. The coed Mountain View Room overlooking the East Golf Course and Cheyenne Mountain is especially luxe, with richly upholstered furniture, including blanket-lined chaise lounges and a selection of newspapers around the centerpiece bouquet on the receiving table under yet another sparkly chandelier. Light refreshments, like custom-blended coffee, Teatulia tea and fresh fruit, sit on a sideboard ready for you to sample. Gender-specific fireplace lounges bid you to curl up in comfort as well. Or you can always wait out your treatment at the Five-Star spa in the dry sauna, steam room or aromatherapy room.

Spa at The Broadmoor’s official slogan is “If you’ve been here, you know,” which says a lot about its philosophy and the sense of exclusivity it cultivates. VIP treatment is the key to the luxurious experience; no detail is overlooked in the process of creating a posh yet serene setting in which to pamper you with not just the treatments themselves but all the little perks in between. In short, relaxation is as important as beautification. And as the slogan says, after you’re had a massage, facial or wrap at the Five-Star spa, “you’ll know,” and will very likely want to come back.

Amenities at Spa at The Broadmoor abound, of course. But to make things easier on you, we’ve whittled them down to our favorites. These are the five amenities we think best at Spa at The Broadmoor:

1. Even before your treatment begins, you’ll be clad in a warmed robe. A warmed-up robe may sound like a minor detail, but it’s the little things that make Spa at The Broadmoor a Five-Star property.

2. The opportunity to relax in the coed Mountain View Room is a treat, with views of the East Golf Course and Cheyenne Mountain combining with an assortment of newspapers, as well as a sideboard laden with coffee, tea, citrus- and cucumber-infused water, fresh fruit and more to keep you occupied as you curl up on a blanket-lined chaise longue.

3. Fireplaces lend coziness to the his-and-hers lounges. There’s something to be said for the crackling fireplace in Colorado Springs that other spas just can’t offer.

4. Complimentary use of the dry sauna, steam room and eucalyptus-scented aromatherapy room is another perk, as is access to the fitness center downstairs (for hotel guests only).

5. And though the signature, 18-head Serenity Shower is only available for use by appointment, it’s an extraordinary feature, computerized to adjust to your height and preferred temperature and water pressure. It turns a simple shower into an indulgent luxury.

The treatment rooms in at Spa at The Broadmoor don’t offer views.

Locker rooms at Spa at The Broadmoor are as amenity-filled as the rest of the Five-Star spa. The carpeted dressing rooms, lined with lockers in three different sizes, are scattered with overstuffed ottomans for ease and comfort; soft music is piped in. Vanities are stocked with all the obligatory tools and toiletries: body lotion, deodorant, makeup mirrors and hairstyling products as well as curling irons, blow dryers, and combs and brushes in a sanitized storage unit. The showers contain shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shaving cream from the spa’s collection. You’ll have all the toiletries and tools you’ll need to get squeaky clean in the locker rooms at Spa at The Broadmoor, plus access to the relaxing heat treatments and relaxation areas to help transition you to a calmer state of mind and body.

Inside Spa at The Broadmoor, you’ll find a number of relaxation areas for lounging before, between and after treatments. The coed Mountain View Room overlooking the East Golf Course and Cheyenne Mountain envelops you in luxury, with richly upholstered furniture, blanket-lined chaise lounges and a selection of newspapers around the centerpiece bouquet on the receiving table, all below the twinkling chandelier. You can stay hydrated with light refreshments on a sideboard for self-service, and a small balcony lets you breathe in that fresh mountain air. During those chillier months, eschew the outdoors and just curl up, perhaps with a handful of nuts and dried fruits, by the cozy fire in the fireplace lounge. And there’s always the inviting sauna, steam room and whirlpool available at the Five-Star spa, if you’re looking to get a head start on your relaxing treatments.

We have several waiting areas at the spa. Our fireplace lounge is gender specific and has plush furniture near a calming warm fire. Our co-ed Mountain View room overlooks one of our three golf courses with a breathtaking view of the foothills and beyond.

All of our robes are stored in a heated closet so that upon your arrival you are given a warm robe to begin the cycle of relaxation. Our robes are periwinkle blue with our spa logo on the left hand side. Every robe is equipped with pocket space to hold small personal belongings. We also offer form-fitting sandals that are waterproof while still supporting the foot. We have a variety of sizes in both robes and sandals starting at XS to 5XL.

The Spa at The Broadmoor features men’s and women’s locker rooms each appointed with luxurious amenities including steam rooms, saunas, private dressing lounges, and seating lounges. We have a fireplace lounge attached to each locker room that allows our guests to relax and wait for their services in a more private gender specific setting. The larger Mountain View Room is a coed lounge space that serves as the perfect location to relax in the splendor of the Rocky Mountains.

When you exit the elevator on the third floor of the spa you automatically know you are in a place of serenity. Our aromatherapy diffusers fill the air with seasonal oils that will lift your spirits and calm your body immediately. Walk down the hallway to our entry way that is lined with our state flower of Columbines and enter our raw, ironed gates of peace and wellness. The second you pass through the gates you have entered a place filled with tradition, excitement, and tranquility.

Our sauna and steam rooms are gender specific to our locker rooms. Each steam room is equipped with a cold shower rinse to cool the body while enjoying the mist throughout the steam room. The woman’s locker room has eight private showers filled with all of the amenities needed. We provide our guests with shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, body lotion, razors, linens, hair ties and shower caps. The men’s side has the same amenities, however, there are only two showers.

We offer a variety of organic teas in our gender specific mountain-view rooms. All of our guests also enjoy two varieties of fresh, filtered cucumber or lemon water as well as fresh seasonal fruit. For a boost of energy to get you through your spa day we offer a dried cranberries and apricots along with almonds and pecans.

Directly below Spa at The Broadmoor on the second floor of the facilities, you’ll find both an indoor pool and a heated two-lane lap pool, as well as a hot tub on the veranda. However, use of all the pools is limited to guests at The Broadmoor hotel and members of the golf club. If that means you, note that the main outdoor pool area is at the center of the property; there you’ll find the graduated-entry infinity pool, a wading pool for tots and two hot tubs - not to mention Slide Mountain, the hotel’s own mini-water park. Though we’re guessing that after a relaxing day of indulgent massages and skin treatments at the Five-Star spa, the hot tub will be more your speed.

Spa at The Broadmoor’s nail technicians do offer side-by-side manicures and pedicures, although they can’t guarantee last-minute requests; it’s better to give the reservationist advance notice (the spa recommends that all services be booked at least a week in advance in any case; double that for multiple treatments and packages). If togetherness is what you’re about, note that the spa boasts a B.F.F. package for $360, which ensures you and your pal will have a ball over the course of a three-hour session that includes a massage, facial and pedicure, all together in the wonderful atmosphere for the Five-Star Spa at The Broadmoor.

A choice of therapist gender is offered at the time of the booking in order to secure the request. Should a preference change be requested at time of check-in, we take every step possible to accommodate; however, we cannot guarantee the request will be met.

2. Both the lavish Ceremonial Turmeric Scrub and the Coconut Cream Delight are offered as à la carte treatments. These will help buff and replenish your skin, no matter how dry the winter air gets.

3. A hydrotherapy session in the 18-head Serenity Shower ($35) is another spa specialty; the state-of-the-art, beautifully tiled stall is computerized to adjust to your height and preferred temperature and water pressure. You won’t find a more thorough or relaxing shower experience in any spa.

4. To take years off the face you show the world, try the Premium Facial ($225), a 90-minute, eight-step extravaganza that includes a back rub, scalp massage and acupressure. It’s a whole lot more than just a mask for your face.

5. During the 70-minute Ashiatsu Deep Therapy Massage ($215), therapists don’t use their hands, but their bare feet to knock out the knots. It might be a little different from your usual massage, but we think that’s a good thing.

Spa at The Broadmoor does not offer an aromatherapy massage per se, although numerous treatments boast aromatherapeutic components, thanks to products scented with lavender, jasmine, rose and other sweet-smelling fragrances. The Coconut Cream Delight and the Ginseng & Gingko Body Polish are just two examples of the olfactory treatments you can choose at the Five-Star spa.

There is one package, however, that fits the aromatherapy bill: the Wine Down ($385), which combines a manicure, pedicure and 30-minute chardonnay sugar scrub with a 50-minute Swedish massage featuring Olavie wine-therapy oil. The unique wine treatment at Spa at The Broadmoor works out all the flaws in your hands and feet, giving you one less thing to whine (pun intended) about.

Although children under 16 are not allowed in the treatment rooms on the third floor of Spa at The Broadmoor, they can (provided they’re at least 4 years of age) enjoy a range of treatments in the salon downstairs. You can’t help but wish the Junior Mani & Pedi wasn’t just for tweens and teens, who’ve got their choice of chocolate, vanilla or strawberry soaks and lotions to mix and match with the milkshakes they’re served; a sweet-smelling strawberry-sherbet exfoliant precedes the final polish. The Skin Clarity Oxygen Facial tackles blemishes, which we all know are the bane of an adolescent existence; and the Extreme Express Massage is aimed at kids active in sports. The Five-Star spa also offers a few hairstyling options for youth as well. Don’t hesitate to bring them along to enjoy some sweet services.

This treatment begins with our estheticians anointing oil on the back in a ritualistic performance.?With tensions eased, we will carry out the eight much-needed levels of pampering to transform the skin. Our technicians will select from a variety of all-natural, botanical skincare to specifically customize your course of therapy. Your face massage is a fusion of acupressure, lymphatic drainage, scalp and ear massage, finished with a European flare.

Spa at The Broadmoor keeps seasonal hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the summer.

Sourced from the deserts of the U.S., the Botanical & Green Tea Wrap is a beautiful blend of highly concentrated Aloe Vera and green tea, which will calm and soothe even the most irritated skin. Our nail services include the Spa manicure, Basic Pedicure and signature Pedicure as well as polish changes for hands and feet. Junior Mani/Pedi Combo (for ages four to 12 years) is a combination service perfect for our up and coming Spa patron. Pamper your favorite person 12 years and younger with basic cuticle care, massage, single color and milkshake of choice.

The Polish Change Plus is perfect for the woman on the go. Light cuticle work and nail shaping followed by polish of choice will get you ready for your week on the run.

The Spa Manicure incorporates a formulation from antioxidant rich grape seeds from the vineyards in Burgundy, France. A full spa manicure utilizing these specialty products with additional ingredients such as Shea butter, tangerine, anise and sugar will soften smooth and hydrate the hands.

For the habitual Spa enthusiast, the Basic Pedicure service includes extended foot soak, nail and cuticle care, minimal callous care, luxurious foot massage with shea butter cream and color of choice.

Our Signature Spa Pedicure is a timeless masterpiece that will make your feet sing. We will begin this service with our green tea antioxidant foot soak, inclusive of nail, cuticle and callous care along with a foot and lower leg exfoliation. Known for centuries to inspire health, wine therapy is embraced throughout the Chardonnay Sugar Scrub. Unveil radiant skin with a blend of natural oils rich in antioxidants from Chardonnay grape seeds and sugar. Skin is nourished, soft to the touch and ready to flaunt.

Create a pathway to the senses with intuitive aromatherapy with the Ginseng & Gingko Body Polish. Lavender, ginseng, gingko biloba and bamboo combine as one to slough away dead skin cells. For your ultimate comfort, each bamboo bead is tumbled into a sphere, removing jagged edges, ensuring each bead melts into the skin, while still exfoliating. The Spa at The Broadmoor does offer limited in-room massage services during business hours. We encourage all of our guests to visit the spa itself; however, for those that are wanting in-room privacy we can absolutely make that dream come true. We offer massage, nail, hair and makeup services in most guest rooms.
