Seated at the bottom of McKinney Avenue, The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is in a prime location. Though Dallas is not much of a pedestrian-friendly city, you’re in luck when you’re staying at this Four-Star hotel. Situated at the end of the yuppie-centric Uptown neighborhood, you are in a walker’s paradise. Surrounded by great restaurants, eccentric nightlife and plenty of attractions, The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is in the middle of it all.

It doesn’t hurt that this hotel, located at 2121 McKinney Ave., flaunts an aptly ritzy Bentley to chauffeur you anywhere your heart desires — at least within a three-mile radius of the hotel. You may be thinking that three miles doesn’t get you too far, but with the location of The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, you’ll find that you can get pretty much anywhere, whether it’s to the American Airlines Center for a Dallas Mavericks game or over to the Sixth Floor Museum to learn about the earth-shattering day that JFK was shot.

Regardless of what you are in Big D for, you are in the right place when you are staying at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. With easy access to two major highways as well as the charming McKinney Avenue trolley, you won’t have trouble taking advantage of this hotel’s central location.

Dallas-Fort Worth may be an extremely populated metroplex, but it is pretty easy to navigate, especially from the airport. When you are planning your trip to the Big D, you have two airports to choose from, both within 30 minutes of The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas.

If you are flying on an airline besides Southwest, you’ll likely fly into Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Though the airport is huge and rather confusing to get around, driving to The Ritz-Carlton from DFW is easy as pie. There are two exits of the airport, north and south, both of which will get you to the hotel, though the south exit is easier.

Once you have exited the airport, you will hop on Highway 183 East, make sure to follow signs for Irving/Dallas. Stay on that for about 11 miles then merge onto I-35E South to make your way into the city. After three miles, take exit 429A toward Highway 75/McKinney. Almost immediately, you’ll take the Pearl Street exit. Keep to the right at the fork onto Olive Street. At the intersection of Olive and McKinney Avenue, you’ll turn right onto McKinney and The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is on your left.

For those of you flying on Southwest or a commuter jet, you’ll be closer to the hotel — literally just a few miles away. This is a much smaller airport, with one way in and one way out. At the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Cedar Springs Road, which you’ll be at as you exit the airport, turn right onto W Mockingbird Lane. After half a mile, turn left onto Maple Avenue. You’ll stay on Maple for a little over three miles until you take a slight right onto Cedar Springs Road. Almost immediately, turn left onto N Pearl Street and a quick right onto McKinney Avenue; the hotel will be on your right.

As a Four-Star hotel, there’s a lot to love about The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. From its celebrity chef to its ritzy house car, it’s hard not to be infatuated with just about every aspect of this hotel. It was tough to do, but we’ve whittled our list of favorites down to five things that we love most about The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas:

1. Location, location, location. Set at the bottom of the charming Uptown neighborhood, you are in the heart of Dallas. Within minutes of Dallas Love Field Airport, Southern Methodist University and Big D’s buzzing arts district, the city is your oyster. Hop on the historic McKinney Avenue trolley and explore the yuppie-filled neighborhood.

2. Destination relaxation. After a long day of exploring the metroplex of Dallas-Fort Worth, there’s nothing better than slipping into the world of relaxation. With the Four-Star Ritz-Carlton Spa at your fingertips, you can rid your body of those stresses without leaving the property. Whether you are looking for a haircut or a massage, the spa and salon has a service for you.

3. Fearing’s. Located in the lobby, you don’t even have to step outside to get a Four-Star dining experience. Of course, if it is a nice night you can enjoy your dinner on the lovely terrace. Indulge in celebrity chef Dean Fearing’s Southwest cuisine or people-watch at the Rattlesnake Bar.

4. Ritzy house car. It’s no surprise that this hotel doesn’t have just your average town car to shuttle you around. With a chauffeured Bentley, you can roll up to your engagement in style and absolute luxury. Wherever you need to go, within a three-mile radius, all you have to do is ask.

5. Club Level. Sure, all of the rooms have great amenities; but book a room on the Club Level and you’ll revel in a bit more luxury. You’ll feel like you are staying in a hotel within a hotel with the personalized service and extra perks. A separate concierge takes care of your every need and you can snack throughout the day on complimentary culinary delights in the lounge.

If you know Dallas at all, you know that it is not much of a pedestrian-friendly city. Even if you don’t know the Big D well, you’ll quickly realize this. That being said, The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is situated in a walker’s paradise — one of the only neighborhoods that is. Of course, you won’t be left to your own devices, whether it be your wheels or your feet.

This Four-Star hotel doesn’t have your average house car — why would it? — it has something much better: The chauffeured Bentley is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All you have to do is ask and, provided that the car is available, you’ll be shuttled anywhere your heart desires — well, within a three-mile radius of the hotel. There’s not much else that can boost your social status in Dallas like rolling up in a shiny new chauffeured Bentley.

Each and every one of the 218 rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas flaunts awesome in-room technology. Of course, living in this tech-dependent world, it’s only natural that you find some of the best gadgets in this Four-Star hotel. From the television to the voicemail, these electronic perks are stellar.

Sure, you can find a TV in just about every hotel room; but not every hotel room has a flat-screen, much less a flat-screen Sony HDTV. You’ll even find a DVD player along with the television; and if you didn’t bring your movie library, order up one of the On-Demand HD movies. If you are staying in a suite, your stay is that much sweeter with the in-mirror television in the bathroom — talk about awesome.

With the personalized services of The Ritz-Carlton, rooms are completely customizable. You can control the temperature of your guestroom with the individual heat and air conditioning controls.
