    • Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago opened its doors on January 30, 2008, so it hasn’t yet needed a room renovation. Designed by noted architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and interiors done by McGinley Design, the soaring 92-story glass structure features 339 guest rooms and suites as well as 53 special spa guest rooms on the same floor as The Spa at Trump Chicago. Donald Trump and his children, including Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric, created this new tower in hopes of sparking a new generation of style and luxury. Ivanka designed the spiffy fashion-forward charcoal staff uniforms, and white-gloved attendants tend to you upon arrival at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel. All of the understated, sophisticated gray-and-purple rooms and suites in the Chicago hotel feature state-of-the-art electronics and brands, giving them that still-new feeling.

    • You’re unlikely to encounter a bad view at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, but the best ones come from the rooms that face east. They give you a look at Lake Michigan and the Chicago River — a real treat, especially if you can catch the sun rising through the 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s also fun to watch the boats full of tourists cruising along the river on architecture tours, and in the summer, the rooms give you a front seat to the Navy Pier fireworks.

If you can’t swing river-view accommodations, ask for a room on one of the top floors (the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel goes up to the 27th floor, while the rest of the 92-story building is residential apartments), which will let you peer down to the busy downtown area. For a primo vista, book the Deluxe King City View or Deluxe King River View rooms — they offer more window space with larger panoramic views of the city and the river.

    • If it’s comfort you crave, the best rooms to stay in at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago are the grand deluxe suites, which feature spacious living rooms anchored by marble fireplaces — a treat during Chicago’s harsh winters. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel’s suites have an extra bathroom, a pullout sofa (a nice option for families), a bigger kitchen (with high-end designer appliances) and a separate dining area with a table and chairs. We recommend asking for a suite that faces the Chicago River for a top-notch view.

If you’re visiting the Chicago hotel for a relaxing retreat in its Four-Star Spa at Trump, reserve one of the spa suites. They will extend your spa experience with perks like citrus-scented sugar scrub, body butter and bath salts and roomy tubs for two in the bathrooms. Other in-room amenities are tailored to health-conscious guests, like free weights, yoga mats, straps and bolsters (with instructional DVDs so you can practice in your lounge area), and heated towel warmers with relaxing neck pillows you’ll want to don post-workout.

    • Leave your travel-size containers of bath products at home when you stay at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. Your bathroom inside the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel comes stocked with The Spa at Trump toiletries that possess a fresh, ocean-like smell. We like that the scent isn’t overpowering and that it’s gender neutral. You’ll find lotion and soap at the black granite sink as well as clarifying shampoo, volumizing conditioner, purifying body wash and another soap bar near the white tub. Hunter Amenities International, based in Ontario, manufactures the bath amenities.

Those staying in a 14th-floor spa suite get showered with even more toiletries. You’ll be treated to citrus-scented sugar scrub, body butter and bath salts that you’ll instantly want to pour into your extra-large soaking tub. In addition to washcloths, a small personal loofah awaits for some good old-fashioned scrubbing action. Post-soak, freshen up with the Chicago hotel’s own lotion and peppermint mouthwash before heading out for a night on the town. If you are a bit more selective when it comes to your beauty routine, head to The Spa at Trump Chicago’s shop right next to the spa reception desk. The shop carries high-end products by Moroccanoil, Kate Somerville and more.

    • You will happily take your time primping in the bathroom at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. Large pale-gray limestone tiles cover the space, which is as subdued and sophisticated as the rest of the room. Design-savvy Ivanka Trump came up with the centerpiece of the washroom — a shower and deep soaking tub enclosed behind a glass wall. The shower sits right outside the white tub, so you can have a quick rinse under the Kohler rainshower or with the moveable wand after a nice, long soak.

But the real primping takes place in front of the large silver-framed mirror with rod-like lights on the left and right. Try to peel your eyes from the mirror’s built-in small television to do your hair. Find the remote below on the black granite sink counter flecked with teal and tan. There, you’ll also spot a silver tissue box holder, two Spiegel glasses and a light-up makeup mirror. On one side, a small silver pedestal holds a fresh-smelling bar of The Spa at Trump soap. On the opposite side, a larger silver oval tray neatly displays The Spa at Trump mouthwash and body lotion (the lotion and Trump shampoo, body wash and conditioner next to the tub have the same refreshing-but-not-overpowering scent as the soap), a shower cap, a sewing kit and a silver canister filled with ear cleaners, nail files and cotton pads. Peek in the dark wood drawer for a cream canvas drawstring bag embroidered with the Chicago hotel’s gray logo; inside is a Barbar hair dryer. Under the sink is a brown basket-weave box with white towels.

Near the toilet, the walls are painted a putty gray. One has a phone attached to it, and above hangs a black-and-white close-up of a pistil that's matted in white and in a silver frame. The wall fronting the toilet holds two silver hooks for the waffle robes; a Taylor lithium glass scale rests on the floor.

Bathrooms in the spa guest rooms are similar to those in the regular rooms, but they come with large his-and-hers sinks and an even deeper bathtub (for a relaxing post-spa session) lined with LED candles and a bath caddy to hold a drink, books or magazines. Like we said, you won’t want to leave this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel’s bathroom.

    • During your stay at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, stop by the 75-foot-long heated indoor pool and partake in the special amenities. After you master the backstroke, hydrate with a bottle of Trump-branded mineral water or a glass of cucumber ice water and a copy of the Chicago Tribune (or The New York Times or The Wall Street Journal) while relaxing on the black woven lounge chairs with teal padding and matching ottomans. Or simply gaze out the panoramic 14th-floor windows, which offer a lovely view of downtown and the Chicago River. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel stocks kick boards, foam noodles and pull buoys and lap lanes if you’re in the mood for a serious workout.

If you aren’t a strong swimmer, arrange for private lessons — which are available for adults and kids — by calling the spa’s front desk. Otherwise, veterans can partake in daily pool classes like swim technique and condition; aqua fit, an hourlong cardio and strength-building workout; and Trump Water Babies, a half-hour session for kids 35 months to six years old.

When it’s time for a bite to eat, order off of the hotel’s in-room dining menu and dine poolside at the tan glass tables among the white walls, slate-colored pillars and cream and brown mosaic-tiled floors. Once you’re done swimming, head to the adjacent locker room, where you can revive your tired muscles in the sauna or steam room before shampooing out any chlorine left in your hair. Be sure to stop by the machine that will dry your sopping bathing suit in a snap.

    • As you plan a trip to Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, there a few things should keep in mind for your stay. Here’s our list of the five things you should know about the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel:

      1. You’ll get great slumber. The hotel offers an excellent pillow menu featuring leg bolsters, body pillows for adults and kids, aromatherapy pillows stuffed with sage and lavender, and many more for the ultimate in nighttime comfort. So before you hit the sack, peek inside the bedside drawer for the pillow menu and place your order.

      2. Pets are welcome. For those of you who can’t bear to part with your precious pooch, there’s no need to fret — the Chicago hotel has a special Trump Pets program that provides the proper amenities when you bring your four-legged jetsetter. Be sure to check out the impressive room service menu for cats and dogs.

      3. There are great dining options. Don’t leave the hotel without stopping at Sixteen for a meal. Chef Thomas Lents, a protégé of Joël Robuchon, uses French technique to craft the modern American cuisine at the Four-Star restaurant. When the weather gets warm, head outside to The Terrace at Trump, adjacent to Sixteen. The lit-up Wrigley Clock Tower looms over hot spot rooftop bar and eatery, and you’ll also get a nice view of the Chicago River. Plus, rooms come with their own kitchen. For a quiet night in, cook up something yourself or, even better, have the luxury hotel arrange for a private chef to handle dinner duties that night.

      4. Indulge in the Four-Star spa. The walk-in showers in your room are great, but pay a visit to The Spa at Trump Chicago to check out the unique deluge shower, retrofitted with a cool colored light display.

      5. It’s kid-friendly. Toting the kids along doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice a Four-Star experience. The luxury hotel makes a special effort to cater to its youngest guests with the Trump Kids Program. Little ones receive a welcome check-in gift — which includes personalized kiddie business cards — can order from a special children’s in-room dining menu and get free cribs and baby toys upon request.

    • Forget about those pesky add-on fees when you check in at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. The Four-Star hotel gives inclusive rates, so the amount you pay when you book a room — plus tax and gratuity — is the final price. When you reserve a room, you’ll get complimentary access to the 6,000-square-foot gym, in-room Internet, shoe-shining services and rollaway beds (by request). Plus, you’ll be able to bring your pet along for the night without an extra charge, which is uncommon at luxury hotels.

The only time you’ll need to shell out a little extra cash is if you request to stock your in-room refrigerator with special drinks and goodies. The Chicago hotel will charge a service fee and you’ll have to pay for whichever munchies you want.
  • Forbes Inspector answered a question:
    • If you’re having a hard time getting out of the beds at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, we don’t blame you. Stearns & Foster, a longtime sandman in the sleep industry, introduced a special “luxury sleep system” to the beds at the Chicago hotel called the Trump by Stearns & Foster Plush Pillow top. The mattresses feature the LIFE (Liquid Injected Foam Encased) edge support, where the solid yet flexible interspring system is designed to increase sleep quality and comfort. The linens, made by high-end brand Bellino, are soft to the touch, making you feel as if you’re falling back onto a cloud.
  • Forbes Inspector answered a question:
    • Traveling with a family can be a little chaotic, which is why Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago provides DVD/CD players in its guestrooms and offers video game systems. You’ll find the DVD players under the 42-inch LCD flat-screen television in the bedroom area. For some video game action, call the concierge and request a PlayStation or Xbox. Plopping your kids in front of a TV show or video game might be a nice break, especially if you’re in a rush to get ready for dinner. However, video games don’t have to be just for kids — there’s nothing wrong with playing a few rounds in your room before a dinner date or a business meeting.
  • Forbes Inspector answered a question:
    • Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago sits in the heart of the Second City — all you have to do is step out the front door to find an abundance of activity. However, there are five things we love right inside the luxury hotel:

      1. The view. Trump Chicago’s idyllic locale along the Chicago River left us transfixed by the gorgeous views over the water and across the city. Since the luxury hotel is on a corner, the hotel utilizes all of its sides to create views from its gym, spa, restaurants and, of course, all the guest rooms.

      2. Spa guest rooms. What makes the Chicago hotel unique is that its Four-Star Spa at Trump features its own special guest rooms, filled with amenities fit for a health-conscious stay. The rooms strategically sit on the same floor as the spa, so you can walk straight from your room to a treatment in your cozy robe and slippers.

      3. Trump Kids. Even though Trump Chicago is a luxury lover’s paradise, the hotel still creates a unique experience for its youngest guests. 5. The bathrooms. In designing the bathrooms, Ivanka Trump pulled her inspiration from various hotels in Asia, where you’ll usually find a large soaking tub and a glass-enclosed shower in the same space. We also love the TVs built directly into the mirrors, just in case you want to catch-up on the latest breaking news while you’re getting ready.

    • If you’re exhausted from a long day of sightseeing or business meetings and want to relax in your room, ditch your dinner plans and try the room service menu at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. The excellent in-room dining menu is more like a book, with about 40 pages of food options. A standout on the Chicago luxury hotel’s breakfast menu (served between 6and 11a.m.) is the slew of beverages, from smoothies like the Razzle Dazzle (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, banana and yogurt) and Mango Cooler (mango, skim milk, lime zest and mint) to “morning spirits” such as the Land O’ Lincoln Morning Glory (bourbon, brandy, bitters, absinthe and a little splash of soda) to the Red Eye (two parts lager, one part tomato juice, a dash of tobacco served in a frosty class with an optional raw egg). There are also international breakfast meals (American, Continental, European Continental, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Greek, Scandinavian and Bavarian) and healthy options as well, like the organic Fight the Fatigue Fitness Breakfast with your choice of fresh juice, an egg white omelet, chicken sausage, a protein shake, a housemade muffin and either Julius Meinl coffee, Harney & Sons tea, or skim milk.

All-day dining features a huge variety of hot and cold bites, including sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, sweets and frozen treats. Picky eaters can make their own pizza between noon and 2a.m.,or their own pasta between 5:30and 11p.m. The dinner menu is pretty upscale, with appetizers like pineapple gazpacho and shucked oysters, and entrées such as roasted salmon and beef tenderloin. If you’re in the mood for food from the Far East, Trump has its own Asian dinner section that’s filled with favorites such as dim sum or sushi. The late-night menu features all the proper dishes for your 2a.m. cravings: chicken quesadillas, rock shrimp poppers, classic Caesar salad and wok-fried rice, just to name a few. If you’re staying in one of the hotel’s spa guest rooms, there’s also a spa in-room dining menu with better-for-your-body choices like sushi, tomato and basil soup, marinated tofu steak and a vegetarian panino. 1. A camera. Chicago is a city rich with culture and history, and you’ll want to take lots of photos to remember your trip. Whether you snap a shot of the beloved “Bean” sculpture in Millennium Park, capture the lakefront or pose for a group photo after a day of shopping, a camera is necessary travel tool.

      2. A heavy-duty coat. If you visit Trump Chicago during the brutal winter months, trust us, you’re going to want to bundle up in a down coat or something equally thick. Even the fall and spring evenings experience a drop in temperatures coming off Lake Michigan, so pack a shawl or cardigan to ward off the chill.

      3. Walking shoes. Chicago is easy to navigate by foot, so be sure to bring a pair of comfy walking shoes that can last the entire day. Whether you’re touring various museums and landmarks or spending a day shopping on the Magnificent Mile, the last thing you’ll want is uncomfortable shoes causing you to cut your sightseeing short.

      4. Some dressy attire. This is a fun city, and what better way to explore it than a night out on the town. Pack a great outfit and head out for a drink at the ultra-chic Rebar, located on the mezzanine level of Trump Chicago. Get a taste for the city and explore the nightlife in the Gold Coast, River North and Loop neighborhoods.

      5. Food. A great amenity found in all the Four-Star hotel guestrooms is the kitchen, complete with a flat-top stove, Sub-Zero fridge and Miele dishwasher. If you’re traveling with your family or just love a home-cooked meal, stock up on some groceries and make use of the modern kitchen.

If you plan on staying there, keep the Four-Star Chicago hotel’s reservation numbers on hand, just in case.
  • Getting to Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago from the airport won’t be a hassle — the luxury hotel is near O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport and accessible by various modes of transportation. All major airlines provide service to both Chicago airports, and you’ll also find all big rental car firms there. You can choose a taxi or limousine service from the airports, and transportation between the airport and Trump Chicago can be arranged through the concierge for an additional fee.

At either airport, catch a cabat the various taxi stands outside the terminals, and the flat rates cost between $35 and $40 plus tax and tip. Or you can try out the “L” or elevated train: The Chicago Transit Authority, or CTA, offers a Blue Line train from the ground floors of O’Hare, and the closest stop to the hotel is Washington. If you fly into Midway International Airport, take the CTA’s Orange Line train to the State/Lake stop. From both train stations, it’s an easy 11-minute walk or a two-minute cab ride to the Four-Star hotel.
  • To get to Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago via train, ride into one of two Metra stations, Union Station or Ogilvie Transportation Center, both located about 1.5 miles from the hotel. Although taking the “L,” the elevated train, around downtown Chicago is a more convenient mode of train transportation, the Metra reaches places outside of the city in the various suburbs for you to explore. However, we do recommend using the L to get around — the Blue, Orange and Red lines are all within easy walking distance of the Four-Star hotel, and they can take you to Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast, Logan Square and other fun neighborhoods around the city.

The Trump Kids program provides kiddie cocktails, children’s menus, a special gift package upon arrival and even cute business cards printed with your kid’s name.

    4. Sixteen. Perched on the 16th floor, Trump Chicago’s signature restaurant, Sixteen, has floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Chicago River and the rest of the city. As if we weren’t impressed enough by the view, the Four-Star restaurant’s food is knock-your-socks-off good and features a sophisticated presentation that’s among the best in the biz.

  • There are so many wonderful things to know about Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. Here are the top five:

    1. Firstly, guests should know that their room can be completely customized to their liking. By working with our signature Trump Attaché service, they can set the temperature in your room, custom stock your refrigerator, de-feather your room and set up a gaming system to your television.

    3. Third, it should be known near and far that the sushi at Rebar is exceptional and not to be missed.

    4. Another insider tip for Trump Chicago is that the locker rooms in the health club are outstanding. Even if a guest does not use the health club or spa facilities, they should certainly venture down for a shower in the locker room. The Kohler deluge shower uses different colors, music and water strengths to create an entirely unique experience.

    5. Lastly, not to be missed at Trump Chicago is the view of the Navy Pier fireworks in the summer. From the east facing rooms and the Terrace at Trump, guests have an incredible, picture-perfect view of the city’s weekly fireworks between Memorial and Labor Day.

  • From the moment a guest walks into the lobby at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago until they lay their head down at night, they will be impressed with every space. Anchored by a look of contemporary finery with detailed touches throughout, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago is the next generation of luxury. Every piece of furniture, every appliance has been selected as the best of the best. Two sets of guestrooms, Tower Rooms and Spa Rooms, have two distinct designs. The 286 Tower Rooms have a distinctly residential feel. Bathed in light and dark shades of purple and grey, these rooms have 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows that put the focus on the beautiful architecture surrounding the building. The 53 spa rooms have a different feel, although still one of plush luxury. These rooms feature more earth tones of light green and beige and have personal yoga mats and in-room weights for guests’ use. These rooms were designed to match the feel of the 23,000 square foot Spa at Trump. The Spa uses the same color palette and uses touches like fresh orchids to complete the look.

The hotel’s public spaces exude similar feelings of decadence. The signature restaurant, Sixteen, has one of the country’s largest Swarovski crystal chandelier hanging in the main dining room. The stunning chandelier is 19 feet long and made up of 19,000 individual crystals. As the sun rises over Lake Michigan, light fills Sixteen through its stunning wall of 24 foot floor to ceiling windows. This natural but specially designed glow makes the room look like a glittering jewel on the Chicago River. A few floors down, is the chic lounge, Rebar. The curved glass bends with the river and gives diners the impression of hovering over the river directly. Reds and yellows are used throughout the room and they mimic the blinking lights of the city outside.

  • If you’re heading to the Windy City for a luxurious stay at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, be sure to pack these five things:

  • There’s no such thing as a bad room at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago but there are certainly some rooms that are extra special. The 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows found in every room perfectly frame the city outside your window. Perhaps one of the best views is in room 2400. Facing east, this one bedroom suite has a picture-perfect view of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and puts guests eye-to-eye with the famous Wrigley Clock Tower. This beautiful suite also comes with a working, electric fireplace. There are few things as enjoyable as curling up to the fireplace on a cold, Chicago evening. Guests can additionally enjoy the large, full size kitchen in the suite. If they so choose, we can arrange for our executive chef to cook a private meal in the comfort of the guests’ own room.

Another very special room is 1462. This room, on the spa level of the hotel, is directly connected to the couples’ suite in the Spa at Trump. For a romantic stay-cation, it is an incredibly unique option. Guests can go straight from their bed to the therapy room, featuring two side-by-side massage tables and side-by-side deep soaking infinity tubs. The hotel offers a handful of romantic getaway packages and they are perfectly suited for this room.
  • Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago does not offer a guest loyalty program, but loyalty to the hotel does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Our signature Trump Attaché department goes through every arrival to determine if a guest has stayed with us before or at another Trump Hotel Collection properties and if so, to ensure that they receive a warm welcome.

The Attaché’s keep meticulous records of a guest’s preference so that the room is set to their requested temperature, food allergies are taken into consideration when rearranging the mini-bar and room type preferences can be accommodated. This attention to detail inspires our guests’ loyalty and is always appreciated by the entire Trump Hotel Collection.
  • From the giant Christmas tree on Michigan Avenue to the glittering lights from the top of the John Hancock building, the entire city of Chicago sparkles during the holiday season; and Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago is no exception. Traditional colors like green, gold, red and silver are used to accent the hotel’s own beautiful décor.

New Year’s Eve though, is when the decorations at Trump Chicago are truly outstanding. Each year, Sixteen and Rebar are completely transformed into two brand new spaces. Each outlet picks an incredible theme and carries it through the whole evening. Whether guests enjoy the exquisite multi-course tasting menu at Sixteen or spend their whole evening on the dance floor at Rebar, they will be sure to have the time of their lives. • Every season in Chicago has something special to offer a traveler, especially with a stay at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. In winter, visitors enjoy ice-skating in Millennium Park; in summer it is tough to beat a nice day at the Lake Michigan beach. However, summer and winter can have extreme temperatures and can occasionally be unpleasant. Because of that, early fall and late spring are some of the best times to visit Chicago. The weather is typically quite temperate and very pleasant and makes exploring the city a true delight.

Walking along the lake on a warm fall afternoon, enjoying a cocktail on an outdoor terrace or experiencing an outdoor movie in the park are all best suited for a warm day. Chicago is a terrific city to walk — very accessible by foot throughout a majority of the city. Winter hardly encourages long walks and in the summer it can be just as uncomfortable in the heat. Because of this, it is best to come in the transition months when the temperature is just right.

The bathroom doors in the guestrooms slide rather than open into the room, allowing for more space; and the closets feature a high hanging rack so that women can bring their long dresses during their stay without worrying about them dragging on the ground. • When Ivanka Trump was designing the guestrooms in Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, there were a few things that she wanted to customize to the Trump Hotel Collection. Perhaps something overlooked by many designers and guests alike but in reality of great importance, is the closet height. Ivanka realized that because of the number of galas and events being held in the city and in the hotel, many women in the hotel would have long, formal gowns. Because of this, she insisted that the closet heights and bar be higher to prevent gowns from dragging on the floor and wrinkling. This special touch is a favorite of fashionable women everywhere.

Beyond the bar height, the closets are large, spacious and numerous; there are two closets in every room and suite. They include luggage stands, shoe horns, hangers and all laundry and shoe shine materials. The spa guestroom closets have a special treat in them, as well. When housekeeping turns these rooms down at the end of the day, they will turn on a warming box for a special neck and eye pillow. These pillows are lavender scented and are the perfect way to unwind after a busy day.
  • Beautiful limestone immediately grabs the attention of any guest in the bathroom at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. The full bathroom has a sliding, opaque glass door and a beautiful vanity with plenty of space for everyone to get ready. Spa at Trump toiletries include shampoo, conditioner, face soap, body scrub, body lotion, hand soap and a toothbrush and tooth paste upon request. The in-mirror television brings these bathrooms well into the 21st century and allows guests to take a relaxing bath as they catch up on their favorite show.

One special touch in the guestroom bathrooms are the way the shower and bathtub are enclosed. Both the shower and tub are encased by a glass wall, meaning that the shower area sits immediately outside of the tub. Oftentimes people like to enjoy a quick rinse in the shower after a long bath and this keeps the water contained and is very easy to transfer from one to the other.

The bathrooms in the spa guestrooms are entirely different. They feature an expansive his and hers sink, private area for the toilet and the deepest bathtub most travelers will ever encounter. Lined with LED candles and an exquisite bath caddy for your magazine, drink and other bath necessities, guests will never want to get out of this tub. Speak to a spa therapist and they will be happy to assist you in drawing the perfect bath.

The bathrooms in suites differ slightly from those in a regular guestroom for a few reasons. Primarily, they do not have the same side-by-side bathtub and shower area. Instead, they have a larger shower. Furthermore, suites also come with at least one other, smaller bathroom. Still a full bathroom with a stand-up shower, these bathrooms are perfect for families traveling together.
  • There’s no such thing as a bad view at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. Every guestroom features 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows that make up the entire exterior wall of their room. For example, rooms will include a description as either: Lake View, River View or City View in the name.

While every view is stunning and each has special features, one of the more exciting views is certainly over Lake Michigan. The suites in the building corner facing east offer a perfect view of Navy Pier. This view is perfect in the summer months for when Navy Pier sets off their weekly firework show at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. 4. Later that night, feast on the delicate and innovative sushi being served at Rebar. The popular “platano macho” roll is a trip into the extraordinary with this roll of sweet potato & banana tempura with baked unagi, chives, tobiko and their signature banana unagi dressing.

    5. Pair that with one of Rebar’s inventive cocktails, like the “mango avec bière” composed of light and refreshing mango shaken with light rum and topped off with a light white ale.

Immediately adjacent to Sixteen, is the outdoor urban oasis, the Terrace at Trump. The Terrace at Trump is reinvented every summer with a new theme and the cocktails are designed to perfectly suit the space.

Furthermore, Trump Chicago proudly offers a large in-room dining menu that is available 24 hours a day. It is currently the only hotel in the country that offers a certified organic in-room dining menu. No matter what you have a taste for, it can be found at Trump Chicago.
  • Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago’s main bar is Rebar. Named after the steel wire used throughout the hotel, commonly called rebar, it is located on the hotel’s mezzanine level. A chic and sophisticated lounge, Rebar features stunning, up-close views of the Chicago River and Michigan Avenue Bridge. The bar looks almost as though it is floating on top of the river. Seasonally changing cocktail and sushi menus keep regulars continually returning for more. Its liquid kitchen ensures that all juices and mixes are made in-house and use only the freshest ingredients. Offering a series of seasonal punchbowls, this signature drink is perfect for group outings. Rebar’s sushi is as exciting as the drinks themselves and continually pair unusual items together.

Come summertime, head up to the Terrace at Trump for an outdoor, urban oasis. With a recently expanded capacity and annually changing theme, it is the perfect spot for a cool cocktail on a hot Chicago evening. Hotel guests and city dwellers alike enjoy small plates and handcrafted cocktails all summer long. • The most important meal of the day is one of the best at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. Breakfast is served daily in the hotel’s signature restaurant, Sixteen, from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. There are few more beautiful ways to spend the early hours of the morning than watching the sun come up over Lake Michigan from a table in Sixteen. The city sparkles like a newly polished gem. Some of the delicious breakfast options include the lobster omelet, smoked Atlantic salmon and an incredible selection of freshly baked pastries.

Should guests prefer to have breakfast in bed, they need only dream up their favorite breakfast item and in-room dining will have it to you in 30 minutes. Available 24 hours a day, the in-room dining menu is over 30 pages long and is filled with everyone’s favorites. If, on the off chance, you do not see your desired breakfast, the chefs will be happy to whip it up for you anyways. The freshly squeeze orange juice is not to be missed.
  • While every dish will be sure to delight, there are two dishes that are Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago signature breakfasts. The Truffle Texas Toast is not to be missed. Large slices of Texas toast, covered in butter poached lobster, spinach, a poached egg, roasted tomato and topped off with the city’s best hollandaise sauce. Best ordered with a side of the fresh applewood-smoked bacon, this breakfast takes the Texas mantra of bigger is better to a whole new level.

In case you crave more of a breakfast sandwich, the croque madame will suit you perfectly. The breakfast relative of the French croque monsieur, it is an excellent addition to any breakfast menu and at Sixteen, it is one of the best dishes. A traditional French lunch item, the grilled ham and cheese sandwich finds its place on the breakfast menu with the addition of the fried egg on top. The side of herb-roasted tomatoes goes perfectly with this item. Bon appétit.
  • The menu at Trump International Hotel & Chicago’s signature restaurant, Sixteen, changes daily; and because of that it makes it hard to determine a signature dish, as there are always new ones being crafted by our executive chef. One favorite though, that makes appearances throughout the year is the pork belly and tenderloin. Cooked to perfection, it’s plated and then covered with a creamy polenta, roasted peach, mustard greens and topped off with a bourbon espuma.

Otherwise, the best dinner option at Sixteen is to do the chef’s eight course blind tasting menu. Comprised of eight separate courses prepared by the chef that very moment, it is an incredible culinary journey. Start with an amuse bouche before enjoying various appetizers, a fish course followed by a meat course before topping off with incredible desserts from executive pastry chef Sarah Kosikowski, a James Beard Award nominee.

The majestic views of the city further enhance these dishes. Perfectly framing the city, Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, the restaurant’s 24-foot floor-to-ceiling windows bring the city’s beauty inside. Diners walk away from dinner knowing it will stand alone as one of the best meals of their lives.
  • Every drink on the Rebar menu is a Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago specialty. Changing seasonally, these cocktails mix traditional ingredients with inspired additions. One popular cocktail is the Reveev martini: Veev acai shaken with fresh blackberries and finished with champagne. The juices used in this drink, and any cocktail utilizing juice, are all freshly made every day in the Rebar liquid kitchen. Their extensive sake list is a wonderful option as well. Full of incredible unique and unusual sakes, our servers can guide you to the perfect one.

Absolutely not to be missed in Rebar are the seasonal punchbowls. Punchbowls have been enjoying a renaissance in Chicago but the best ones in the city are found at Rebar, on the hotel’s mezzanine level. One favorite for summer is the Flor Blanco. A white sangria creation accented by the elderflower of St. Germain, Grey Goose vodka and mixed with a bouquet of fresh and fragrant fruits. A large beautiful punch bowl is the perfect way to gather friends at the end of a long week and toast to a great weekend!
  • The wine program at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago’s signature restaurant, Sixteen, is composed of over 700 different labels, and the focus is on balance. Both New World and Old World regions have plenty of space on the pages of the wine list and our director of wine and spirits, Rachael Lowe, is driven to highlight a variety of small, up-and-coming wines from smaller, lesser known regions and of interesting varietals. In total, there are approximately 4500-5000 different bottles in house. Sixteen is known for its beautiful wine gallery that lines the entrance to the restaurant’s dining room and feature most of the red wines available. The galleries are temperature controlled to perfectly maintain the integrity of the wine. The champagnes and white wines are held in a cooler cellar a floor below.

Our sommelier Rachel Lowe has taken Sixteen’s wine program to new heights. A graduate of the Court of Master Sommeliers and a recipient of the Rudd Scholarship for high marks, Rachel works hand in hand with the executive chef to perfectly craft wine pairings to his fantastic dishes. Rachel continually strives to bring new wines to the restaurant and keep the wine program one of the finest in the city.
