There’s more than one jogging route near The Fearrington House Inn, since the hotel sits at the entrance of a 640-acre plot that was once a farm owned by the Fearrington family. When you check in, ask for a map that shows the network of walking paths. Though, even without a map in hand, you can carve out a pleasantly rural-feeling route that takes you past lush meadows where Belted Galloway cows — a rare breed from Scotland — and Tennessee fainting goats roam. One mapped-out route, six miles long, takes you on a run that incorporates the best of both running worlds: Hilly and flat surfaces.
