  1. The Umstead Bar and Lounge, which sits adjacent to Herons, isn’t known for making signature mocktails or non-alcoholic drinks; this is more a place where wine lovers gather for tastings or an after-work bottle of pinot grigio, or where the post-golf crowd swirls and sips glasses of bourbon.

    But that’s not to say that The Umstead’s bartenders won’t accommodate special requests. If you’re poolside, craving a frozen daiquiri sans the liquor, simply ask the bartender and he or she will be happy to whip something up. The bartenders will also be happy to make suggestions for mocktails that mirror The Umstead Bar and Lounge’s own seasonal bar list — so perhaps you can still enjoy a fruit-infused martini, even if you hold off on the liquor.
