Overview

REV might sound like to a call to action — i.e., rev up your engines to dine here! But it actually comes from the word revel, meaning of course, to take pleasure in something and make merry. REV does both. The restaurant inside Hotel Madeline Telluride takes its “farm-to-fork” mission very seriously, even going so far as to hire a local farm to grow organic, baby bulbs of tender fennel to top off a dish of braised pork (for an exquisite and unusual flavor we might add). But this is Telluride, which means you can dine on the fine-dining fare in your jeans and thick cable sweater. The restaurant has a swanky but casual feel. topnotch staff and an eclectic list of wines from new vintners as well as high-end spirits. Add a picture-perfect setting and you’ll feel right at home in this mountain haven. For a unique and adventurous cocktail experience or lighter fare, be sure to also check out the hotel’s sister bar, SMAK. That’s Swedish for flavor.

REV is ideally located in the heart of Telluride’s Mountain Village. REV is the signature restaurant in Hotel Madeline Telluride, which fronts the central plaza of Mountain Village. The ski resort, galleries, boutiques and even an ice skating pond surround the restaurant. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant’s high windows look out on the plaza and the skating rink, giving you a front-row seat to all the activity happening outside as you enjoy a hearty meal and excellent wines or cocktails inside. In the winter, the plaza is strung with lights and at night, the whole scene twinkles. It’s about as picturesque a setting as you can imagine.
